This Lonesome Pine special was the best. Branford meshed with them perfectly. Howard who left the band a year after this was so awesome on the harp in their rendition of the Beatles' "Michelle".
There is a song that this song reminds me so much of, maybe an 80's or 90's song but I can't think of the name, lyrics or who sang it... can anybody help?
That piano player is The incredible Howard Levy a founding member of the flecktones played on their first 3 albums..he also played several hand held instruments..like harmonica and pinwhistle..etc
@tomaspepino but in response i do agree claudio arrau is a great pianist. however he and rudess are not in the same field. rudess is a progressive keyboardist first and foremost where arrau is a classical pianist. comparisons between the two are unfair and irrelevant
My all-time favorite!

One of their best songs. Their best performance of sunset road by far.
MrZanither 8 months ago
One of the best versions of Sunset Road I've heard. Nothing forced, just ultimate chill. And checkout Branford checking out Howard.

Most interesting in this song, is how five so different players find very equal roles in a band..

And why are u comparing a jazzist with a metal progresive player ?
U contradict yourself.

it's silly to say that their old stuff is better than their newer stuff because of a few songs. they're new stuff is just different.
