@Septagotius Most of the teleporting footage was from a movie called "2001: A Space Odyssey". Some like the movie (like myself), others think it's total garbage.

The technique to create these effects is called "slit-scan photography". It's kinda hard to explain, so Wikipedia and Google can help flesh out the details.
