@gregomyeggo69 Yes i have ! the original metal gear solids' voice acting was just phenomenal. And Final fantasy X and like most square enix games have amazing voice acting too. But these guys just suck right here
apparently the reason they revoiced all the characters was because if they just used the original audio from MGS1 and gave it higher definition it would have had too many background noises creeping into the sound..still though who else would have wanted to see what it sounded like either way? :/
I dunno why but I prefer the PS1 version's scene, Mantis' face in this didn't freak me out for some reason the PS1 version did. Mantis in this one sounds pissed and reminded me of Nitrous Oxide. PS1's Mantis sounded more devastated and I felt sorry for him... he got to me at "Strange... this is the first time...I've used my powers to help someone... strange... it feels... kind of......nice...." *dies* sniff... R.I.P Mantis... I'll never forget you violating my memory card and freaking me out...

play the original MGS for the PS1, you find out more. the nostalgia comes from the fact that before he became a terrorist, he worked for a police department, using his powers to interrogate criminals. one particular criminal who's mind he peered into, which led to his insane state of mind throughout the game, was accidentally killed during the interrogation. however, that criminal's mind somewhat worked its way into his. you figure out the rest :)

Codec moments, need I say more? can't remember if it's Naomi, the Colonel, or Mei Ling that tells you the info, but they give you his history. first time he used his powers for good is told by one of them, and is pretty much what I stated in my last post. I think there is also a wiki site you can go to in order to find that info. hell, I was playing the game again yesterday, and I got that info from one of the three I mentioned before, but I can't remember who. night gaming ftw!

@ScReWaTtAcKeD I think he was referring to the controller ports. SInce there was only one other port in the ps1 version he uses "the other". The gamecube has 3 other ports, so he doesn't use "the" unless he was going to end the sentence (Ex: the other 3 or the other ones.)
@ScReWaTtAcKeD I don't think it's actually a dialogue error, in PlayStation you had only 2 controller ports, so you have only one alternative choice (that's why "THE other")
On the GameCube you have 4 controller ports, and 3 to choose from.

Hell, when Kojima was developing the first MGS, the original title of the game was going to be "Metal Gear 3", meaning that he clearly saw MGS1 as a continuation of an already existing story, not the beginning of a new one.

The story as Hideo Kojima himself said it: Metal Gear Solid is a new story in the Metal Gear universe and thus it is called Metal Gear Solid. It is the same main character and so on but you have to realize that METAL GEAR is about Solid Snakes war against Big Boss. METAL GEAR SOLID is about Solid Snakes war against Liquid NOT Big Boss and thus its a story of its own.

If a true fan is one who has been a fan since the debut of the series, then by that logic majority of Star Wars or James Bond fans aren't true fans, majority of Law and Order fans aren't true fans, and that means that there are no true Dickens fans or Tolstoy fans, since NO ONE is alive anymore who was around when they started writing.
It's not when you started being a fan that makes you a true fan; it's the passion you have for a series or author.

I think what Urenus1987 is trying to say is that if you had a child, you would not know his/her fate, would they suffer? Would they die...? But (as humans) if a family member or friend is ill we would do everything i could do to help them, be that by comforting them, or even curing them. That is because we ARE human, we have the determination to carry on until they ARE cured.

@ScReWaTtAcKeD I think he was referring to the controller ports. SInce there was only one other port in the ps1 version he uses "the other". The gamecube has 3 other ports, so he doesn't use "the" unless he was going to end the sentence (Ex: the other 3 or the other ones.)

On the GameCube you have 4 controller ports, and 3 to choose from.

Metal Gear Solid was the first game in the series to even be given an ESRB, Pegi, etc. rating, so that means that it's more than possible enough for him/her to be a true fan. i... am not one, and maybe that person wasn't either and just wanted to see it in HD, it actually seems like a pretty good one to me. but whatever, i wanna play MGS 3 because after all the mechanized stuff in the first, i'm ready for some NATURE!

And nothing at all in any of these games tells you that why Zero lost it and tried to take over the world was because of Big Bosses Insurrection or the fact that they argued at ALL. Hell, when Kojima was developing the first MGS, the original title of the game was going to be "Metal Gear 3", meaning that he clearly saw MGS1 as a continuation of an already existing story, not the beginning of a new one.

The story as Hideo Kojima himself said it: Metal Gear Solid is a new story in the Metal Gear universe and thus it is called Metal Gear Solid. It is the same main character and so on but you have to realize that METAL GEAR is about Solid Snakes war against Big Boss. METAL GEAR SOLID is about Solid Snakes war against Liquid NOT Big Boss and thus its a story of its own.

If a true fan is one who has been a fan since the debut of the series, then by that logic majority of Star Wars or James Bond fans aren't true fans, majority of Law and Order fans aren't true fans, and that means that there are no true Dickens fans or Tolstoy fans, since NO ONE is alive anymore who was around when they started writing.
It's not when you started being a fan that makes you a true fan; it's the passion you have for a series or author.
