A blend of both usually, you have to rain what you were given or it will just wither away. Although you can become very profficient in most things even without natural talent if you practise enough.

Sorry, but it must have been dumbed down. Nobody got 6 A levels in my day. Few got 4 A Levels and hardly ever all grade A's. I wonder how a modern-day student would get on with a question like:

"Compare and contrast the oxy-acids of phosphorous and sulphur."

You fail to take in how technology has aided our learning. Back in 'your day', I don't suppose you had such a wealth of information to learn from. It's through such means that students are able to achieve so highly.

Anyway, plenty of students still perform poorly - obviously they feature the one who got 6 A grades, but he's probably the only one who got anything near that...
