  • why you scratched the wire from both sides??? i'm confused....

  • @BadarShahHashmi in order to coil copper wire like that, it has to be insulated to prevent it from short circuiting. since its insulated, when you just place in on the paper clips, current wont travel through. So you scratch off the insulation to reveal the real copper.

  • does it work whit a 1.5v aa battery??

  • @5864daniel probably not. here is a good link explaining why

    amasci. com/miscon/voltage.html

  • @chook2148 thanks

  • is the coil magnetic? if yes what metal did you use?

  • @johnybond4ever it turns into an electro magnet due to the current that is put though the coil. the coil is copper wire.

  • what guage is the coopper wire? also

  • @jh78ghbn56 not sure to be honest. the diameter has to be small enough to easily wrapped around a cylindrical object. i'm sure anything not too thick that the local hardware/hobby/electrical store has should be sufficient, as long as it has that coating on the wire so you can scratch it off to make the crucial contact points. or even if it isn't coated, just use some varnish on one half of the wire.

  • @arnoldaszlt that is infact a jim beam bottle cap (i dont condone drinking the bottle just to make a simple dc motor) does the wire have a coating on it? if not... you might need some varnish or tape to seal 1 half of the wire.
