I like the snappy banter between AB and W here. He's grown out of his obsequious urge to please her by pretending to be knowledgeable and no longer takes her nasty attitude quietly. I know it's all scripted but it makes a wonderful commentary on self-confidence by refusing to let her rattle him. (The 70s outfit was worth a chuckle, too.)
hilarious grilled cheese! your my new cooking mentor because ive been under a rock since 1999 when you show first started airing! or because im a 24 yr old college student who had mom do the cooking. Thanks man.
The 0.7 just comes from averaging the numbers. The "average" person received either 2 or 3 pots, with more people receiving 3 of them rather than 2, so it averages out to 2.7
Alton Brown is king of food network, its a shame they run repeats of boring crap all day when his show is both informative, entertaining, and generally is something an average person could reproduce and is only on a few times a week.
I have done this recipe many of times...It works, and is delicious. A heavier cast iron pan will require a couple more minutes on high heat, or another minute pressing the sandwich.
The grilled cheese (big cheese squeeze) is delicious. The mustard and pepper really add to the dish's flavor and makes it seem kind of grown up(?). Just make sure you give it as much heat as AB says, or the cheese won't melt through all the way and the bread won't be as perfectly crisp.
Oh trust me, I have yet to go back to flipping grilled cheese. Three pieces of advice though.
1: DEFINATELY use the olive oil spritz. I did have it stick and burn once before without adiquite coverage...
2: If you're not big on mustard, cut down on the amount. It will come through.
#3: Make sure your pans are cast iron as he says. I find better success that way. Nothing else really holds the heat or reacts to the oil quite like cast iron.
Has anyone tried the grilled cheese recipe? Is it good? (It sure looks good. My mom thought mixing mustard with cheese was a horrible idea. Though, AB uses mustard in a lot of cheese things...)
"Let's not ruin this moment... with words!"

maybe the 0.7 could be the addition stuff that could come with the pots. Burners, forks, bowls for dipping items ect.
