If think that David had darkblonde hair back in the 80's and 90's. In the domination-era his hair was darkblonde/brown. Comparing darkblonde roots to the ''very'' blonde hair makes the darkblonde roots look really dark. But the older you get, you get darker hair, so maybe he has darkbrown hair nowdays. But of course you'll get gray hair someday.

Ist just doesnt damages a lot, it also turns slightly green (green glow), because the basic colour of black is blue end from blond is yellow. He would have to shave his hair of ore maybe do some other chemical treatment on his hear to get the black out, but it will probably break undergoing such treatmemt.
