  • Hermit monk Lazarus Antoni Australian citizenship

Angel from Russia (Father Lazarus Antoni ) a contemporary saint, yet!!

monk in the monastery of St. Anthony the Great in Egypt

  • Accepting life as it is and going with it-this is so easy to talk about but so hard to actually do

  • I am at peace

  • Does anyone know the song being used at the end?

  • Do not worry desert, I am coming soon...

  • Pax Domini Sit Semper Vobiscum

May the Peace of the Lord (Jesus - God and Son of the Father) be with you always.

    Amen

  • 4:03, This is a very powerful mantra. "Lord Jesus, Son of God, please have mercy on me".

  • @Knockturnall1 sorry this is not considered a mantra in the eastern sense, brother

  • @penaboy well, as long as they are invoking the name of the Lord that is what counts. :)

  • what is the name of the song from 05:50.please answer

  • World Order shit satanic shit. skull and cross bones. I have right to my freedom and life. I am now Eritrean/Ethiopian Orthodox Christian, jew like my husband of 35 faithful years. • Thanks for sharing! may God Bless You

  • The real desert in internal. The scorpion and snake of memory and distractions are as lethal to the spiritual journey as any found in life. Yet the cross is the bridge to life. I have more crosses in the suburbs than the wilderness. Christ is inseparable from His cross. I must find Him in my work, my partner, my children, my neighbour, my boss, the person who cut me off on the road, the criminal, the priest, within. All shield the Hidden One. I must find Him here or nowhere.

  • What an attractive life! Leaving all the junk of the modern world behind to be in the bosom of our Lord.

  • Lovely

  • Read "abc to eternal life" .

  • God bless them!!!

  • What an extraordinary accent for an Australian to use. I wonder is it a contrived one?

  • @pangor2

Could have been of aboriginal origins...No Arab can speak with that accent at all...

  • Very courageous living - and one cannot help admiring it at one level, but walking in front of traffic dodging cars is also courageous. Bur should one admire it?? Surely it was not Jesus' intention for us to separate ourselves from humanity - it seems to be a very selfish goal that the monks are aiming for. BTW, where do they get income from? They have to have a relationship with society at some level. Why only have a truncated relationship with other humans and lose you family and friends?

  • @janhough

If you think that it is selfish and Jesus did not approve of a man losing everything for God's Love, you might want to check the Bible.

  • The Communion looks wrong.Where is the priest?

  • @10WiseVirgins they r almost everybody priests..

  • After seeing videos of many monks on youtube it seems now to me that being a monk for some time makes one wiser that one would ever become by just living in the world.

  • Kyrie eleison

  • living blessed with gods grace obviously you dont need anything else, such nice video

  • may god giive you all what you have sacrified for him 100 times more in his kingdom,

  • Does he attend the Eucharist?

  • Its a great video, marvelous music. Maybe this is what is referred in gospels as the poor in spirit shall inherit the kingdom of God. Some men are so poor in spirit that flings themselves unto the arms of God , who will embrace them lovinlgy and fill their life with everlasting riches. In other words, there are two kind of riches: spiritual and worldly, both of them are good, but belong to different realms.

  • Hail Orthodoxy from an Assyrian brother!

  • Horrible video! "There is nobody as cool as I am here..I'm from Australia and I'm very stupid..yes" Now give me some down thumbs bitches!

  • Amazing! When it comes to God.... i guess we cant even describe his works!

  • This is a great video.

  • PERFECT

  • @srpskiheroi I find Fr Lazarus a very enlightening man. Could language please be moderated on this site. If we think somebody else is wrong then by all means say so. But swearing is not a good advertisement for our faith and will likely put people off it. Please consider this.

  • amazing. may the Lord bless these monks at all times. greetings and blessings from orthodoxy in india. Shlomo.

  • I am jealous.I have lately thought that I would love to live my life by just surviving day to day without money, without all the worries of civilization,to just live and not just exist.Right now I feel obligated to support my wife and children, but if I were alone,I would have nobody to worry about but myself.before, loneliness caused me to seek a wife,a companion for life. But today I have a different outlook on life.I can embrace the quiet stillness that is so opposite of this noisy, selfish world.

  • They give example by them self not only preaching without working.

  • My feeling is that there is going to be a huge rebirth in the number of people seeking God and Christ in such communities. The attractions of modern life soon gather dust and crumbles. The things that matter most last the most. Seeking the eternal, young people are already begining to see that the life as depicted on glossy magazines and soaps, is shallow and leaves a hollow feeling. Fr Lazarus knows that truth because God has come to dwell in him. God bless him as a light for the world.

  • great!!!!

  • very good film

  • I am floored by this spirituality. My friend James went to the desert for six years: this man has an otherworldly perception of life, one unlike anyone I have ever seen and he lives the gospel. If one feels the call to the desert, make sure your "house is in order first" and go! From all the testimony I have heard including this beautiful film, this is the life closest to heaven one can get here!

  • A tractor? shouldn't it be a donkey hooked up to an plow?

  • why hasnt across africa?

  • @CALLINGALLTOLOVE

Coptic orthodox is spreading in the whole of africa . With limited budget , we have coptic missions taking out in africa promoting our faith in orthodox to the people of africa. May God Bless those people , and may God make every mission succesful . We hope that it'll spread like flowers spreading over the desert :) May Jesus Bless Us all :) ALL! amen!
