  • "Casper, the friendly ghost

    The friendliest ghost you know

    Though the grownups might

    Look at him with fright

The children all love him so..."

I was hoping this version would have the lyrics to the song, which it doesn't.

I once read a comedian's remark that, if there's a Casper the Friendly Ghost, that also means that somewhere there's a Casper the Little Dead Boy.

  • This theme was used from 1955 through the end of the theatrical series in 1959.

  • Hanna Barbera logo?

  • I seen that Castle Vision logo on the raggy dolls vhs i had when i was younger.

  • This is actually the second theme for "The Casper The Friendly Ghost"movie cartoons..the first theme..had the choral singing of the song.

  • Fantastic video I enjoyed watching I love the older Cartoons!

And those TV logos are just great!

  • aw man i wanted to hear the music I had on the VHS collection.

  • Tcch. Moe Hare always did get misidentified as Bugs Bunny. Anyway, Bugs' design in turn was lifted from Walt Disney's design for a rabbit in one of his old cartoons, the Tortoise and the Hare.

  • Damn get to it already

  • 0:00 - 0:30 gav mig en jävla nostalgi kick mot min käft! O_O

  • oh my god!!!! nostalgia!!

  • everyone realize that this is a cartoon about a dead kid!!

  • hanna-barbera productions WIN!!!!

  • Harvey Publications, which published Casper and the other "Famous Studios" characters in their comic books after 1950, bought the rights to them AND the 1950-'59 library in '59, which became TV's "MATTY'S FUNDAY FUNNIES" (later syndicated as "CASPER AND COMPANY" in 1962). They acquired the later cartoons up to 1962 for "THE NEW CASPER CARTOON SHOW" in '63.

  • that odd H_B never did casper was done By harvey films only n Paramount.....why did hanna-barbara get in that

  • the H-B logo does not belong here (notwithstanding the fact that H-B did produce some Casper spinoffs)

on another note, Worldvision did once have video and TV rights to the Harveytoons, because ABC once aired them (and Worldvision spun off from ABC)

Paramount Pictures, the original home of Casper, would ironically absorb Worldvision in 1999, but full rights to the Harveytoons are now owned by Classic Media

  • and another thing - a few years after Worldvision and the owner of many earlier Paramount cartoons, Republic Pictures, came under common ownership, Worldvision would later gain TV rights to those cartoons for a short time

  • This looks Likes its from the 60s.

    VERY COOL!

  • @CoolioRockstar 1957, actually.

  • It's odd how little things can bring back memories! :)
