Does this camcorder also have an internal hard drive or just uses Mini DV tapes with firewire?

Overall is this a good camera to get for HD filming?

It uses mini DV tapes for live action and SD cards for still shots. Overall this is a great camera if you take the time to master it. The best investment I ever made.

Video become jerky when you use the zoom function. Instead of zooming into the subject, keep it at wide angle and walk up to the subject. Wide angle will always avoid jerkiness when you move the camera around.

A Sony VAIO computer that is about 4 years old. But editing HD footage is painfully laggy and slow, so I don't do it frequently.
