Dolphins of the Tay

saw some dolphins from tayport harbour, close to the side. wonderful, they are so big close up!

@garethreeve Yes they are wonderful. They can get up to 4 metres long. The big males are very impressive. When they come alongside the boats and bowride it is just brilliant.

I believe some dolphins have been seen off Arbroath cliffs, but nothing in the estuary. Our trips are starting beginning of July, so hopefully we will get some good sightings by then.

Haven't spotted any dolphins in the Tay so far this year. Last time I saw one I was in the check-out queue at Tesco, Riverside.

the dolphins are back, I saw them last week. You don't need to go on the boat to see them. I have never went on the boat and I have seen them about 25 times in the last 3 years. Look out for sea gulls feeding on fish. Oh and another thing I noticed once was I notices pail markings in the water, for about 15 minutes then all of a sudden about 5 dolphins came up.

Great memories. (I'm the guy in the cap at the front of the boat at 15 secs in), who was lucky enough to get out on both trips that day. One of the best experiences of my life......and I really wantt o do it again this year (fingers crossed).
