  • @Southsunstuba I would have to agree with you, he vamps it up for sure.

& the pianist also has the tickling of the ivories to where you would want to dance on your desktop!

  • AWESOME..! I MISS YOU BROTHAA!!!

  • I just want to jump out of my chair and have a little dance to this everytime i play it... brilliant song, perfectly sung..

  • Just fabulous. No other words to decribe it..

R.I.P George, amazing bass singer and a lovely guy :)

  • oh my goodness i LOVE this song!!!!!!!!

  • George Younce is the best

  • George Younce, Glenn Payne & The Cathedrals Quartet have always been one of my favorites. George is one of the best Bass singers ever. If you like Bass singers take a listen to Lonesome Road/ Jericho Road by The Rangers. This guy is awesome too. One of the best Bass voices I have ever heard & definetly moved into my top 5. I have been a Quartet fan for 40plus years & don't know how I missed these guys. Charlie Gilmore passed away in 2004. Jerry Redd one the best Tenors ever is playing piano.

  • muito bom

  • had the most wonderful dream with George Younce ... i'm happy just thinking that one day we'll praise the Lord together in HEAVEN !

  • We miss ya George... I wish he was still with us...

  • @GunBoundKiller George was and always will be my favorite Cathedral. Thanks for Hoover4000 for posting this.

  • HE'S JEWISH RIGHT ?

  • NO! WHAT´S THE DIFFERENCE?

  • @hindview , you mean who's jewish? I think they may all be Jewish.

  • Ernie Haase. he was with the cathedrals for several years and now he has the very popular group Ernie Haase And Signature Sound

  • Can you make this videos with lyrics?

  • What a blessing!! Im ready to meet the saints!

  • Does that bring back old memories:) Thx for bringing a little bit of nostalgia, "I ain't gonna need this house no longer." How appropriate for our current time. Funny how that happens. Wonderful to view & yes, I want to be in that number, when the Saints Go Marching On. To the performers, in this video, most of whom are with God now, I know we will see you there, at that right time In not to distant future, I would suppose. "We'll ain't gonna need this House no longer"" Praise YWHW ...Amen

  • thanks for this great post

  • Thank you for that. I really needed it.

  • aman

  • Woah at first I thought I heard Johnny Cash :o

  • love this song.. make me cry yet happy.. i dont know, just feel like crying..

  • It doesn't get any better than this!

  • My dad passed away last week and this was one of his favorite songs. He would go around singing it. He had a big booming bass voice. He is singing it with George now.

  • Just wanted to give you a quick reply - your faith shone through this comment deep and wide - and the joy of the savior through a sorrowful time is truly amazing what a testimony - God Bless You

  • i love this soong and specialy when George Younce sings it

  • i like verry much the chatedrals. Good by whit they

  • i love the Cathedrals i have the cd of the Cathedrals

  • wow...absolutley amazing. there isn't much else like that. george younce is incredible. actually they all are

  • It ain't nuttin' like good ole gospel music. This is definitely what the type of music I grew up with.

  • this is the first song i ever heard by the cathedrals

  • I remember after the catherdals retired,George would make suprise apperances to homecoming concerts entering the arena singing this song.

  • can u find video of them singing a song called "Hold Me"...i have seached everywhere...it is from 1995...it was my father's favorite song and he passed in 1995...i understand if you can not find it but would be grateful if you know the song i am speaking of...God Bless and thanks for the amazing uploads...something about that old time religion :)

  • i am really sorry about your loss i was born in 1995

  • I just caught some of this on GACTV and as a non-religious person, I really respect the talent and showmanship of these guys. I was saddened to hear that George Younce had died

  • i luv dis 1 just as much as i luv da heritage singers.

  • this song is one nice one,i love it. i love singing if you are interested we can group up, i sing tenor. biggie

  • I miss the Cathedrals!

This was one of my very first Southern Gospel Quartets i ever saw!

Thanks for posting this Video! One of My favorites!

  • I love this song! One of my favorites!

    I miss the Cathedral Quartet!

  • My girlfriend just broke up with me and i found out my grandpa has lung cancer and i found this out all yesterday but this song is no doubt going to help me

  • God loves you no matter what you're going through!! No doubt people are praying for you.

  • I couldn't agree more with Donald.

nrpielstick, cancer is hard to cope with, but God is far, far stronger than cancer or anything else that life can throw at you. Trust him with whatever treatment or surgery your grandpa goes through. You never know when God will pull off a major miracle for the sake of those who trust him.

I hope all goes well, man! God bless. :)

  • My Favorite Group and one of my Favorite Songs!

  • OH WOW this was so good what you have going here keep it working... OH WOW!!!!

  • for some reason, i love george younce's voice, its amazing

  • jd is a great bass singer dont get me wrong, he is deeper than george youce but i think george has a better voice.

there will never be another one like him

  • I wonder if George and Glenn are still singing together in heaven, you know they are, praise the Lord!

  • I've met JD and the Stamps Quartet back in the early 1990s. Great group also, but I don't like to take favorites with these two as the Stamps AND the Cathedrals are both great. JD Sumner and George Younce were awesome singers and great men of God. They have earned their rest among the saints. They are missed, but I plan on seeing them again some day up there! What a day that will be!

  • Awesome! Thanks for sharing!

  • shall we live this old earth?..oh,yes..

  • You have to hear JD Sumner

  • JD is not a Bass Singer.... he is a Bass Talker :-D

  • i have no embarassment or shame in saying that their music is some of the best music ever period. no matter what kind of music you like, you simply can't deny. they're musical GREEK GODS.

  • agreed. nathan meendering. i love you. and george younce...and ernie haase...and the cathedrals.

  • There is/was only one quartet in all of Southern Gospel Music - and it was the Cathedral Quartet - and if George Younce isn't THEE Bass Singer of all time then one never existed.

    Rest in Peace Gentlemen

  • can hardly wait 4 dat day

  • Thank you Jesus that that day is coming.

  • i have to say that the Cathedrals are the best quartet and my favorite i might add.

  • I LOVE the Cathedrals...I can't get enough of them!

  • Love it! All time favourite! :-D

  • my favorite song

  • Perfect :)

  • What the world can't comprehend is this is what the true child of God eagerly awaits.May we hold fast to His calling as we walk thru this short time on earth and rejoice as two of the brothers in this video (on right side) have left their fleshly homes and now walk on streets of gold with the Savior!

  • Make that three - Roger Bennett has also passed away.

  • I've actually thought of killing my self to get there faster (over it now), but I know that's not what God wants. He wants me to stay here and help spread His word. Hopefully I can join a quartet like this because I love their music so much

  • hanker95.. yes Made to love Jesus,i wont to meet you , George & be hold the face of God. Come Lord Jesus.........

  • I`ll miss seeing George & Glen dearly.

THANK YOU for once again for this magic moment in time!

  • Georce younce e 1000

  • u need some videos with danny the cathedrals best tenor i think please i have met him once and i am seeing him again 3 days in november

  • Thanks for the video Hoover4000

  • Wonderful, I love this song

  • Classic!

I wouldn't say it's 'unfortunate' that legendary George Younce is gone.. Look what he did in his life.. the best bass most of us have ever heard, spending his life dedicated to singing for our Lord, bringing people to the Truth~ He's gone to a beautiful reward, surely!.. Singing God's praise, face to Face!

Unfortunate is a wasted life. ~God Bless!:)
