I just saw this production, I really liked it, it was very much like an X-Files thing done in a doco style. Some parts of Kneale's plot seemed to get a bit butchered and a few things could've done with a rethink (surely the chemist would think Carroon was a drug addict come to cause trouble, these days) but over all, it was top notch. I was surprised to read a lot of negative reviews on Amazon and the like. It was a decent update with scary atmosphere, IMO.

See, I know all this guff about the Coronation and early TB because of Mark Gatiss writing for Doctor Who, which was half inspired by Quatermass.

And in one of Mark's episodes, "The Idiot's Lantern" (Series Two, Episode Seven of Doctor Who), the people who have been got by the Wire clench and unclench their hands, exactly like Carroon!
