i ahve one of these. she is almost all black with a white spot under her.
they are an amazing breed. every now and then when we are out on a trail she will keep peeking to the side at me liek shes checking im still there. i even have tested hanging onto a branch to se eif she notices im gone.
hes beautifull and i yer he does look long but u can tell its the camera hes looks quit small well not that small lol still gorgeous they have to my 2nd fav breed
I love Gypsy Vanners! I ride a GV mare at the barn and I love riding her. She's a bit stubborn and a bit small compared to other GV's but she's amazing! Also, I share a name with this horse! My name is also Yentle :)!
i usto have a welch cob sec c n he had lovley feathers just like this horses. this horse is a lovley horse but i think i will stick with welch cobs n shires n horses more along that line lol x
they are really gorgous horses i dont own one but i have a thoroughbred and standardbred and i reckon every horse should e treated equally aka the standardbred is way to underestimated. I do reckon that the saddle might be a bit small for the horse like length wise cause his back does look long but if you picture it without the saddle he looks perfect
love the video, and id love to have a gypsy, but i need long backed horses for my barrel racing career, i might just stick with quarter horse lol, but amazing video! :)
Ever think maybe the camera was on the wide screen setting, don't judge a horse unless you've seen it up close and personal. This horse doesn't have a long back and is an amazing example of the breed :)
sorry, but i don't think the camera was on wide screen. nothing else looks out of proportion. i do think, though, that the saddle is too far forward which makes his back look a lot longer than it probably is.
OK, whatever you say. I was the one who took this video so I think I should know what my camera was set on!!! This horse has amazing proportions. Like I said don't judge a horse unless you've seen it in person!!!!!!!
I was thinking, are gypsy vanners easy and good to ride? please, someyone answer please! if someyone has 1, or knows ALOT about me, please tell me! 0.o
widget(my horse) is a traditional gypsey vanner and h is amazing his trot like most other horses is amzing and gentle and there canter is just well better than words can say its better bareback though much more graceful xxxx
I ride both and I love riding both. I find them both as equal.Western has some difficult sports and so does english. You may think english is harder because it doesnt have a horn but thats because western riders need more support since a lot of people ride western in barrel racing. I say that they are equal and people should stop arguing about them and keep their opnions to themselfs. Everybody thinks differently.
Hey I saw this horse at the royal last year, she was on TV!! I read about your farm in inspire magazine. the vid doesn't do her justice, she was the best looking Cob at the Royal by far!! Awesome vid
Ok ya'll people need to like chill on western riding and english riding! Personally i like western and yea you can contorl your horse jsut like english watch reinging anyway... wut ever you wanna think go ahead!!
ummm english way better .. english riders acutally know how to make a horse move nicely alls western ppl want to do is yahoo around ... and you should know what a diagonal is what ever kind of riding you do
In english riding, at the trot you kind of stand up a bit (it's called posting)in your stirrups. You have to lift your but following the front leg at the exterior of the ring.
Wonderful horse, but please people don't ride with tie-downs and side riens. Horses don't need to be forced into correct form if they are trained slowly and correctly.
I love that horse, but the gypsy vanner horses were not bred to be ridden, but to carry wagons for gypsies in the harsh cold hence thick skin long hair but still VERY beautiful!
really good! i love the breed and i havn't ridden horses of the same build, and now it looks like fun! also, i agree with skatdayl - you were on the correct diagonal. is it your horse?
What a beautiful horse. I have always loved horses and only recently found out about Vanners, but I have fallen for the breed. It's a beautiful video, just gentle movement with such a graceful horse. More like it should be posted. Poetry in motion. Yentle is a horse to be proud of.
Well that's your opinion. He looks atleast 15 hands to me. It could just be the video. But he is very stocky. He has big hindquarters and big shoulders compared to the kind of horses I'm usually around. I ride at a jumping stable and most horses there are tall with a slim body. They aren't as wide and stocky as this horse looks.
If I ride at a jumping stable then I think I'd be taking jumping lessons. I have a 4 year old pinto arabian gelding in training for jumping. We're actually both learning how to jump. I got Max on christmas and started jumping in January.
Max and I both started jumping in January and now we're in Beginner classes. Lol. I've only fallen off of him once and he hasn't refused since I fell. I have a 24 yr. old bay egyptian arab mare and she does dressage. Good luck on further training with your mare!
Now is the time for all of us horse lovers to step up! Thousands of horses are being slaughtered right now in the US for human consumption.Even Racehorses and pregnant mares are killed. USDA studies show over 92% of horses slaughtered are healthy and 3 out of 10 contain unhealthy chemicals.
I have one as stubborn as a mule somtimes , always fighting , other times he an angel and perfectly quiet, Then he can be as hot headed as a TB !

Great rider, such perfect control over the horse.
Plus i just love the GV's strides, so graceful, and that is like the most perfect transition from a canter to extended trot at 2:29

hey i ride english, not that western crap.
No offence!!!
tbh, who cares how you ride? its the relationship between the horse and you in the end...
oh and btw, if you feel what you have to say needs a 'no offence' at the end. dont you think its kinda better NOT to say it...

WHATS UR PROBLEM??!! i bet if you tryed to ride english you would fall off and then you'll know that english is not that easy!!
Dressageluv 3 years ago
If you havent rode english then you cant say it's crap. We do alot of hard stuff.
If you can't keep things to yourself then don't both watching english videos.
