I'm glad to live in Canada where here and also in the United States both religions can live side by side. We have a ton of Irish and even though I often disagree with them or the catholic religion, they have just as many rights the the rest of us have and that will never change and it shouldn't. If I realize someone is Irish and/or catholic I am just as friendly to them as I am any other person and I would help them out if they needed it....even those bastard Celtic fans.
