    10 out of 10.

    Thankyou so much

    Mike Rose

  • This is scrumtrelescent....

  • jerry would have been so happy to hear you play so well...great !

  • I've really gotten a lot out of watching your videos for this song. I wouldn't have been able to figure out the tuning if you didn't explain it in your video for the intro. Watching this video while playing along has been extremely helpful.

I've also been trying to figure out how to play Jerry's version

of Wabash Cannonball - the video of him playing it on The Porter Wagoner Show.

I'm wondering if you know that song. If so, would you please post a video for that too? Many thanks!

  • great pickin on a very tuff song - I could not come even close if i practiced all my life - great job! And I love Jerry Reed, God rest is soul.

  • Great pickin man . How did you tune your guitar ??

  • This is such a tough song to play right, and you've nailed it - nice work

  • I have a tele from Mel. Good stuff.

  • Outstanding!

  • Can you play this solo? Without playing along with the record. It would be so much better. I can't tell you apart from the record. I am trying to learn this on guitar and really appreciate your time and effort! I am having a hard time with the bass line, I've got the accent notes.

  • ur amizing with the fingerpicking

  • way cool

  • Excellent performance mate, bin tryin it, I struggle to use me right index finger to pluck bass strings

  • Great pickin'. How is the guitar tuned for this tune.

  • Hey Phil,

This is Carlton Jones - the guy who sold you that cool Baldwin. Great job on these Jerry tunes. Send me an email sometimes - I'd love to hear from you. Check me out on You Tube playing with tommy Emmanuel. Search "Tommy Emmanuel and Carlton JOnes" .

  • That was brilliant, wish i'd stuck at learning acoustic when i was younger =)

  • i just saw how good you play this and.. well my jaw is on the floor, i have to pick it up lol. NICE PICKIN!

  • this is excellent - I can't quite work out what you're playing over the G chord - b note at 9th fret (6th string) to open d note or are you fretting the d note at the 5th fret.

  • Hey there mr. guitar man, that was some mighty fine pickin'

  • Phil this truly is amazing thank you. However, I can't seem to get the part you do when the verses start. Can you please break down those two parts? It isn't so much the notes it's the picking style. I really love Jerry's claw picking style and I was reading about it but it's been a big struggle to learn it on my own. Thanks again man! This is great stuff.

  • Soooo greatful to you for posting this video your a legend, I've managed to nail this one from watching you and Jerry's 1967 performance of it, he's awesome as are you my friend as are you! Kindest Regards from this side of the pond.

  • Thanks guys...it's one tricky tune.

  • @muzikman74 very nice job, I wouldn't even come close to being able to transcribe this tune :)

You probably know there's a second version of this song (with a different intro and bridge) do you happen to have a video (or transcription) of that as well?

  • @muzikman74 would it be possible to show me the verse part without the track? I have the intro down along with the alt tuning. Just cant figure the picking pattern on the verse. I can't get it rolling. thanks and very good by the way.

  • That was awesome

  • Very Nice!

  • Great pickin`, son!!!

    Martin

  • great

  • Show 'em, son!

  • 10***********

  • SON!!!!..That was mighty FINE!!!!.....Roger
