Good idea: reload shotgun shell with flechettes, (buy those from Cheaper Than Dirt). Secure device 10 to 12 feet above ground, angled downward. Run trip wire. Sit back and enjoy with a bowl of popcorn...

they obviously work great, i can imagine a shot shell with tear gas being semi-effective at least,,, however,,, it appears it is not reusable,,, the trap itself seemed to be destroyed but the shell going off. If possible clarify.

@zenosxr It is reusable. You just need to keep replacing the blank noise maker. A little paint came off of the one in the video. I think that is what you saw.

yeah, this could be easily jerry rigged with a mouse trap, a plank of wood and a drill press with a 3/4 inch hole saw. likely under $10.
