I have a 1988 Plymouth Voyager with 275,000+ miles on it and it still runs strong. A/C, cruise control, rear windshield wiper all still works. I love it. I call her my lady bug (burgundy red with black tints). :)
notice at .36 this has the luxary steering wheel which meant it had the 2.6l motor in it because these had the standered steering wheel if they had the smaller chrysler 2.2l motor and they had the better looking luxary sterring wheel if they had the bigger motor which was the mitsibushi 2.6l motor and this was the same with the relaint/aries k from 1984 to 1985 they had differnt steering wheels for smaller and bigger motors !!!
ya me to if i was to buy any chryslrer product from 1981 to 1986 i would take the chrysler 2.2l motor the 2.6l was kinda junk the piston rings werent built nearly as well they had carburation problems and they were known to blow blue after 200 thousand k and the chrysler motors had a much better reliability record then the 2.6l mitsibushi motor
yes those mitsibishi 2.6,s were horrible thank god the fuel injected 2.5l came out in 1986 cause those 2.6,s used from 1981-1985 were horrible motors and yes the carburaters on those 2.6,s were always bad to if anyone gets an older 81-85 k-car or a first gen 1984-1986 caravan or vyoager make sure you get the chrysler 2.2l motro yes they were slower but allot more realible and so much easier to work on the 2.6l was just a complete hunk of junk from the start!!
I had a 1992 4 cylinder Plymouth Voyager. When I got it, my mechanic cousin told me it was a mistake and the 4 cylinder engine would burn out. We finally had to get rid of it when my son got in an accident in 2005 and it was totaled. It had 157,000 miles on it and was still going pretty well.
