ive been living with PTSD after abuse that started when i was about 9, im 18 now and am working on getting treatment, i was in a psych unit for a few weeks but that doesnt mean im crazy at all, we are just sick , thanks i dont need to be told im crazy cuz im not.

"PTSD is a pretty common disorder". Dr. Mueser, where was that opinion in 1982? I suffered a severe trauma when I was 12 (1975) and was told by therapists that my symptoms of avoidance, terror and anxiety was not related to my trauma. At age 15, before PTSD was in DSM4 manual, I told them I docs I had a shell-shock like condition and they disagreed. 15 years later docs finally agreed that I had PTSD but said I was probably incurable because it wasn't treated early. Since when is it common?

I live with PTSD since 1996 when i was shot 7 times, thanks for the info, people think we are crazy, but we are sick, and life is hard enough without that, thanks
