hey guys im working hard to be a running back (power back) or full back, i'm 15 years old 6 ft and weigh between 210-220 lbs, i bench 210 lbs, squat 275, and dead lift 370 lbs. my 40 yd sprint time is reaching the lower 5s and i can hurdle things that are about 3 to 4 ft off the ground if some tries to take out my legs, i played offensive for 2 years so i'm a really good blocker and next year i'm moving to a high school with 200-300 do you guys think i could do it.

@ludacrisbig Idealy, I would say WR but you're a good size for high school HB...If you're concerned about yourself physically, you're 40 time is a little slow. But it maybe due to bad machanics, not your overall speed. Go to a college and ask one the fast guys about that. They'll be happy to fill you in.

If your 130, and 5"8, your not muscle. You should be 150-175 if your not "fat", and your "muscle", and that's still relatively light, and scrawny. 5"8, muscular is 180-205.
Forgot to talk about the cleats and the field condition plays a big part Now strong legs and a strong core is a prerequisite to play running back and should be for every ball carrier position Other than that I agree this is pretty good for a simple direction change but this is to avoid one maybe two defenders and there are 11 of those muthafuckas and probably 10 other dumbasses in yur way. Hopefully a few of them can block. Be able to change direction and ANY direction at the drop of a leg.
That sucks flat footed and knee is behind the ankle on some cuts and in front of it on others... you shouldn't be worried about changing directions do what you said and strengthen your core... and stay on the balls of your feet and do some dang Icky Shuffles... Oh also you should tell the kids you coach that there plant foot is also a pivot point and they should drive there knee through after the cut to get back into running form.
@wheeler90 Also I forgot you need to strengthen your hips too... every time I watch this I get excited to think I could be breaking your face when I hit you... you have got to work on that and re-post a video of you doing it the right way.

no such thing as easy way to get fast everyone has to work for it but if ur looking for a good way 3 words chris carter handbook got me from a 5.2 to a 4.5 went from d-end to rb :]
1. running around doesnt get u so much faster..it just makes u run the same speed for longer.
2. there r different techniques and excercises that make u get faster..like that guy said look for cris carter handbook (he was faster at 30 than he was at 25).
3. resistance training and running backwards will have ur calf muscles ridiculous. do track team i suggest

im 5'7 a freshman, i squat 415 in reps i weigh 165 im average speed and very strong i am in the process in being scouted this year i ran for 1856 for a total of 11 games what should i focus on now to pursue my dreams of being in the NFL

@ davv idk what football training season starting for you. (maybe weight lifting) but u should definately b a wide reciever thts very skinny but u are some what tall. i would know ima wide reciever to same height but im 150.

ur fairly big and u say ur fast try to play either linebacker or defensive end it u like defense and offense try tight end if u can catch. im 15 and play freshman football and was captain of the best team in the county so im not just some loser just sayin haha

you should do running back, you say youur really fast and strong, you have the hight so thats what i would do, im only 10, im 5'1'' crazy athletic, 96 pounds, really fast and strong, even though im young im already being scouted 4 a collage team, i came in 1st overall in football tryouts this year.

depends on ur grade/ playing level (fresh, jv, varsity). Id say be a Wide Receiver, but u could be a Running Back if ur a freshman

If your 130, and 5"8, your not muscle. You should be 150-175 if your not "fat", and your "muscle", and that's still relatively light, and scrawny. 5"8, muscular is 180-205.

Forgot to talk about the cleats and the field condition plays a big part Now strong legs and a strong core is a prerequisite to play running back and should be for every ball carrier position Other than that I agree this is pretty good for a simple direction change but this is to avoid one maybe two defenders and there are 11 of those muthafuckas and probably 10 other dumbasses in yur way. Hopefully a few of them can block. Be able to change direction and ANY direction at the drop of a leg.

That sucks flat footed and knee is behind the ankle on some cuts and in front of it on others... you shouldn't be worried about changing directions do what you said and strengthen your core... and stay on the balls of your feet and do some dang Icky Shuffles... Oh also you should tell the kids you coach that there plant foot is also a pivot point and they should drive there knee through after the cut to get back into running form.

1. running around doesnt get u so much faster..it just makes u run the same speed for longer.
2. there r different techniques and excercises that make u get faster..like that guy said look for cris carter handbook (he was faster at 30 than he was at 25).
3. resistance training and running backwards will have ur calf muscles ridiculous. do track team i suggest

ya get faster, im 5'2" 135 lbs and run a 4.9 aswell. practice your 40, but most importantly your acceleration. practice 5-10 yard sprints until you can get your full speed in the quickest time possible.

i know a kid who is only 120 but he can probably make a 300 pounder tip over easily cus he works harder then every1 else and is way more hungrier then the other players, and hes only 5'2 or 5'3. so ya, just matters on who u are
