Vinnie filled the spot after Ace well. He's the one new Kiss guitarist that really had the stage moves, talking about the make-up days here, that resembled Ace's quite a bit. If you watch him he's very Ace-like, maybe that's why Ace 'hates' him. lol Wish Vinnie had managed to stay in the band and they'd kept the make-up on, in terms of songwriting they hit the jackpot with him but at the time felt they should drop it to get some attention. Artistically a mistake, marketing-wise the right thing.
I have a Gene Simmons autograph, a Paul Stanley autograph, and a Ace Frehley, they're not fake autographs, i met all three of them and got an autograph from them, but i was shocked Gene signed because he refuses a lot of times. But all three were nice especially Ace

@ADolphinRockband His real name is Vincent Cusano. Born in nearby Connecticut of Italian heritage. He replaced Ace Frehley in 1982 and had some differences with Gene and Paul about playing style and, thus, was let go after two solid albums.

Vinnie refused to sign, lied to the band, & took advantage of fame

Its all about taste. If i knew nothing about music, or guitar, and my favorite band was AC/DC, and i absolutely hated KISS. Well, naturally I would think that Angus Young was a "better" guitar player than Ace or Vinnie. My fav song may be Back in Black"..and worst may be "Shock me", dont mean angus is better

I was kinda disappointed when I saw this. Being the living legend that he is, Ace could have shown more class and been more gracious. You would NEVER EVER see Bruce or Tommy doing stuff like this. As far as Tommy & Vinnie bashers go, they're not true fans. True to the heart fants love and respect ALL Kiss Members, past & present! It is unfortunate that Vinnie was a bit of a diva. It was his undoing.
I would have loved Ace to do that to my book. I liked Vinnie in the Invasion but not in KISS. He only had like 2 good songs, Lick It Up and All Hell's Breakin Loose. Every song Ace did with KISS was good and I think overall Ace has a better feel, style and is just a cooler better musician. But Ace Frehley is my main influence and my favorite person in the world so I am bias.
I really didnt think that Ace even wanted to be part of Kiss anymore neither does Vinnie.So it blows me away why they even go to them extremes of crossing out somebody face.
That Tour was my Very First Concert, I was in the 4th grade. Wendy O' Williams(rip) and the Plasmatics opened. Really touched my sense of nostalgia with this one thanks.
I like both Vinnie and Ace. I think this kind of behaviour is really childish and that Ace needs to grow up. Again, I like both, so don't go hating on me for sticking up for Vinnie. They are both exceptional guitarists. Instead of hating on one or the other, just appreciate what they do. We're all fans (well, most of us here are). Can't we all just get along and love the music?

He was fired because he never officially signed a contract which would officially make him a part of the band. And no. If I were Ace, I would have signed the tourbook, and when it came to the picture of Vinnie, at the absolute most I would have pointed at the picture and laughed at him, but I wouldn't have tarnished the book by crossing out his face. That's not cool.
Legal battle over the rights to use the KISS logo. Appearantly Ace designed it and still owns the rights to it. Ace doesn't own the rights to the name...just the logo artwork. Ace was hilarious in interviews and would make Chiem Whitz and Stanley Eisen (the Jewish members of the band) cringe with his dark, sarcastic Irish humor.
@TheSmashTeddy: While we all certainly love Ace, the fact is that Vinnie is definitely a more talented player. He's more than just speed-shred (although he does it like a mad man!) when need be he can play leads that in of themselves sound like melodies. Ted..what I think is happening here is that die-hard Ace Fans (God bless 'em all!) can plainly see that Vinnie is the better player and it angers them to no end.

Ace & Vinnie kind of prove that whoever the lead guitarist in KISS was at the time was the guy who determined the sound in a way. I mean to me, it always seems that in the original line-up, the musical powerhouses were Ace and Paul, then when Ace left that fell to Paul & Vinnie, then when Vinnie left they languished until Revenge with a few good songs here and there, mostly attributed to Paul. And I think because of the lawsuit, that made Ace writing with the band tougher, hence PSycho Circus.

I've seen a pic of Vinnie's daughter! She's quite pretty..you can tell Vinnie's her father. She looks like Vinnie sort of like Lisa Marie looks like her Dad (Elvis) Oh...Paul Stanley has a niece..very pretty..you'd think she's Paul's Daughter.

I love it! Ace crosses out Vinnie's photos - classic Ace! All other KISS guitarist paled in comparison to Ace's originality and rock and roll spirit! Don't get me wrong, Vinnie, Mark and Bruce all were talented in their own way, but Ace was the original they ALL tried to emmulate! Now Tommy "The Scab" Thayer is nothing but an Ace Frehley wanna-be who couldn't shine Ace's shoes!

Ace was,is and will always be the best Kiss guitar player.Vinnie is awesome but his style just didn't fit in Kiss...I'm not sure if Ace really hates Vinnie,he did that because he saw in one photo that Vinnie crossed Ace's face and wrote Vinnie so Ace took revenge,I don't know some of you,but I'm sure that most Kiss fans prefer the Rock N' Roll sound that Ace gave to Kiss than the "Metalish" sound that Vinnie gave to them...long live the spaceman!

@ericfromkokomo They didn't fire him because he was a bad guitar player, he was actually an incredible player, as is Ace. He was fired because he never officially signed a contract which would officially make him a part of the band. And no. If I were Ace, I would have signed the tourbook, and when it came to the picture of Vinnie, at the absolute most I would have pointed at the picture and laughed at him, but I wouldn't have tarnished the book by crossing out his face. That's not cool.

Legal battle over the rights to use the KISS logo. Appearantly Ace designed it and still owns the rights to it. Ace doesn't own the rights to the name...just the logo artwork. Ace was hilarious in interviews and would make Chiem Whitz and Stanley Eisen (the Jewish members of the band) cringe with his dark, sarcastic Irish humor.

@TheSmashTeddy: While we all certainly love Ace, the fact is that Vinnie is definitely a more talented player. He's more than just speed-shred (although he does it like a mad man!) when need be he can play leads that in of themselves sound like melodies. Ted..what I think is happening here is that die-hard Ace Fans (God bless 'em all!) can plainly see that Vinnie is the better player and it angers them to no end.

Ace & Vinnie kind of prove that whoever the lead guitarist in KISS was at the time was the guy who determined the sound in a way. I mean to me, it always seems that in the original line-up, the musical powerhouses were Ace and Paul, then when Ace left that fell to Paul & Vinnie, then when Vinnie left they languished until Revenge with a few good songs here and there, mostly attributed to Paul. And I think because of the lawsuit, that made Ace writing with the band tougher, hence PSycho Circus.
