You can't just strike out a constitutional amendment. There's a whole process that the gov't needs to go through that is beyond just proposing to strike one in a bill.
Step 1 - eliminate campaign contributions and intrest group money. This will give us a government again.
Step 2 - tarrif all imports, including US companies overseas (over the US production costs) and let American entrepreneurship grasp the new markets. Jobs will be advertised on the radio again.
@tcpnet Currently using 4.3GB of 16GB on the main rig. I rarely stream 4 HD vids at once, but can easily divide among other systems. As long as I get 30FPS in my games, I'm happy.
Overall I like the plan and I like the elimination of various federal "projects" but the one thing I would like the government to do is provide some basic form of health care. That, or require all employers to provide medical insurance for their employees; part or full time.
@the9thdude I prefer to leave the choice in the hands of the people. If you can afford to pay cash, or if you're willing to risk not being treated, that should be up to you. The government has no right, no business, and no authority to poke around in your health without your consent.
@tsilb I agree it should be the choice of the people, but the price I have to pay either for insurance or for a hospital bill is too much for me at this time. I'm 19; my parents got laid off. So I, like many others, just can't afford it. I am employed but my employer doesn't provide medical benefits until I'm an assistant manager and the food industry isn't what I want to study in. I would simply like the option of government medical care to be available to young adults and kids at least.
@the9thdude Oh, you can't afford it, so everyone should pay it for you, is that how it is? Healthcare is a service, and service is a commodity. Once you think you're entitled to a commodity, what's to stop you from thinking you're entitled to ALL commodities? Shall we start buying your food and a home as well? Oh, wait, we do that too. Liberals have ruined this country.
Now, if it's optional, that changes everything; but the fewer people who opt in, the more expensive it will be for each.
@tsilb I consider healthcare to be in the same vein as the police and fire departments. I think it should be available because the country values its taxpayers and citizens and ensures their safety and well-being
I'm not DEMANDING it happen right now but once the budget is fixed, I would just like to see a public health option explored without us going into debt for it.
@tsilb Same could be said about public education but I'm sure there is a way for a public option to exist in the future. That's all I could really hope for. As I said, I agree with most your statements about the government and that we should focus on getting our wallet back in order first before doing anything experimental.
@tsilb As for other entitlements, they can go to hell. I agree the government does too much hand-holding and that there are enough charity organizations to take care of the needy who are pissing money and resouces overseas in Africa.

Wouldn't be in debt in the first place if the states had higher taxes like here in Canada.

@tcpnet Don't mention higher taxes around here, people will be out in the streets with torches and pitchforks :)

@the9thdude If it isn't in the Constitution, the Federal Government has no business meddling in it.
