It is better policy to use divs and lists rather than tables. It gives better control over layout on several similar pages plus when i used tables last different browser and operating systems showed them slightly differently which often lead to problems.

@llakay hi. the code is what he wrote in the video. you can't copy and paste, i don't think, but if you start writing in notepad at the same time as he does, you will be able to write all the code and edit as you wish easyly. Then, copy FROM YOUR NOTEPAD and paste it on your html code. I would suggest create a new html page called htmlmenu.html and use it as template. This way you always have it available in original format. that is what i did anyway and it worked perfect today.

@ipoditouchman make sure no spelling wrong or spacing wrong. i copied mine typing as he was typing and it worked from the first try. Later edit the labels and url's and you are good to go. I also eliminated in mine the top center banner and made it an actual left-side only menu, as my page is already divided in 3 vertical sections, so i just added the code within the left section and it showed up perfect.

RoveMe, I believe he was creating this tutorial for basic HTML only. I would bet money that explaining just HTML would be more helpful for a HTML tutorial. No reason to confuse the learners with anything other than HTML, such as myself, I understand the basics, even a little CSS and so on, but I would rather start clean.

I'm not sure how to rate your video - for a beginner there are a lot of helpful tips and techniques, but most of it is unfortunately outdated. As I looked through your other videos, you already made css-tutorials. why not continue your design with a split of html and css-style?

one other thing: you put all your content in a table, if you want to change your layout someday, you have to change maybe everything. thats when div-tags come handy, where you can format and position them via css-tags

Ay help on getin a foter that I have created as a div in my CSS to display at the fot of my HTML page. I aded the div unde al my othr divs in my body tag but unlike al of those it didn't display under the previus div ad just pped up near the top of the page behind everything.
