We had a wolf hybred. She was crewing on a bone treat, when my 2 year old cousin grabbed the end of the bone.

He wouldn't let go. She wouldn't let go. She started whinning like crazy for us to get the kid off her treat. She never growled. We got the kid off the bone, and she took off to find a quiet place in the yard to enjoy her treat without some kid to interrupt. ;-) It's how they are raise, not the breed that counts.

You got that dog to trust you VERY well... she knew you weren't gonna take it, and that it was her's. Sometimes even the best behaved dogs will growl to protect their treats. My dog, a puggle, just stares at her rawhides when we take them with a face that says, "Why can't I have it?" *puppy dog eyes*. Then we give it back.

@dkerris Very true. I agree completely but sometimes it really is the breed (or at least it plays at the very least a SMALL part in it). There is a reason ignorant people dislike Pitbulls. I know they geta bad rap and everyone thinks they're viscious, and that's because if you look at the stats they ARE the ones doing most of the attacks. I mean you just don't see chocolate lab kills chihuahua. With Pitbulls it's all the time. Now that doesn't mean I wouldn't own one or two.
