@maccjassy It could be that your source footage is very compressed and difficult to work with and get a clean key from.

what does Shears calculates?

@69TmTulio It is how the shape (geometric plane) distorts. It helps when tracking something that doesn't stay the same shape throughout the clip.

@69TmTulio The term is "shear", not "shears". "Shears" are scissors, or the present tense of the verb "shear". "Shears" as a noun does not exist in mocha.

@SuperThebullet On Windows its in C:Program Files/Adobe/After Effects CS4(or 5)/mocha/mocha for After Effects.

The Mocha that comes with AE is V1.23. It only exports tracking data.

The new version of Mocha for After Effects allows you to export masks out too, but you have to have the mochaShape plugin to be able to import that information in to AE.

It's a seriously good workflow if you ever need to do rotoscoping work.

@slackdave The Mocha AE that comes with CS4 iwill only export tracking data.

The newer version of Mocha for After Effects let you export out masks and bring them directly into AE.  You need to have the mochaShape plugin for it to work though.

It's a seriously good workflow if you ever need to do roto!
