  • @14hunan - piss off

  • @14hunan clown

  • Stonehenge 1984 how lucky I am to say I was there - I remember getting sunburnt but not much else

  • S.Flavius Mercurius is leaning on the Van yes indeed

  • Saw Roy many times in the sixties - he was always honest and direct and it was obvious he cared

I am sure he still does.

  • Jimmy Page is leaning against the van in the background, watching

  • lol...stonehenge...1984..:D:D..i was there..:D:D...i can even remember some of it..:D:D...

  • "the greatest living englishman" I forget who said that,oh! I just did

  • The most criminally underwriter song writer of the 20th century. And this is one of his most beautiful songs

  • Roy is a hero. No longer touring. I totally agree, one of his most beautiful songs. The greatest poet/ song writer we have. Makes all the other rock gods of that era look unimportant, he was the guiding light.

  • Marvellous!

  • The fact that Roy is 'underrated', 'uncelebrated' and generally overlooked by the populous is neither here nor there. He is loved deeply by those of us who found him - he belongs to us as we belong to him, it's enough.

  • When you say, "He is loved deeply by those of us who found him" I totally relate. Discovery is everything!

  • Always makes me think of North Country Girl. This is a tender a beautiful song. Poems are at the eart of all his work.

  • Thank you for this. Had just found "Old Cricketer Leaves the Crease" on Youtube, which got me thinking on this other great Harper song. Could never figure why this truly gifted lyricist who wrote so many haunting songs was never really celebrated. I have his albums from the 70s somewhere in the attic. Wonderful artist

  • purty song..i'm fin to try n learn so he'p me wotan

He played it years ago on The Old Grey Whistle

    Test. Always loved it

  • a great songwriter

  • A tender, haunting ballad from the criminally underrated Roy Harper. Thanks for posting.

  • I agree, an extremely underrated English talent!
