Americans are Americans no matter their religion. I am sick and tired of seeing the negative way that religion has affected, and continues to affect the world. The Supreme Court has ruled that Atheism must be considered a Religion in order to come under court authority for first amendment protection by the first amendment law. Therefore, presto, Atheism is religion. Even though it is non-faith based religion, it still gets to be religion. The court is the final arbiter. Cheers!!

Atheism=religion, It sounds very strange and maybe it might not make sense but yea I did read thats how the supreme court rules on it. The supreme court now considers atheism a religion based on it being a "belief" , IOW an atheist believes that God does not exist, just per example. I guess that was the only way legally to protect the rights of atheists undre the 1st ammendment. They had to affirm that it is actually a belief-system, that a person chooses NOT to beileve in something.

You're thinking of Article Six.

He's in clear of violation of the Constitution and if any police officer actually sued the city over this they'd win hands-down. These religious tests/oaths have always been struck down.
