Who is Jim Pike? The man with "the golden voice" and a personality to match. Gary, so nice to see your post. I hope life is treating you well. You and Jim are the best.
@Layna8 Who is Jim Pike ? He just happens to be my brother, and founder, and creative force of the famed Lettermen vocal group. All of the Lettermen are very good solo singers and are also posted on YT...
@mrgarypike So nice to see your post on YT. It has been such a long time and the past leaves only warm memories of you and Jim and the music created by The Lettermen and now Reunion. Hope to hear more from you in the future, would love to see you and Jim again singing in concert. I know Jim enjoyed the celebration of his 75th birthday, forever young !!! Take care of you and let us know what you are up to. Enjoy your weekend !!!
Just came across your site looking for so deep is the night. What a voice.Im 75 years old and have heard most opf these versions.Yours ranks among the tops
Greetings. I invite your attention to the song "Symphony" by Johnny Mathis. (I tried to post a link. When I clicked "Post" it said, "Error, try again." So, just type in Johnny Mathis and "Symphony.")
To my ear it has a Chopinesque "feel" similar to Jim Pike's "No Other Love.," especially the arpeggiated piano. I think the two songs would make a great medley.
I was surprised to hear this one - I expected the Rodgers/Hammerstein song by that name, not the Weston/Russell. I never knew ANYONE but Jo Stafford ever recorded this song!
I wonder if you could post the original version of the lettermen. I mean the one with the three of them blending their voices. Oh by the way, THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting "Halls of Ivy". You are very generous.
My cousin would like me to upload a version of this song using all those memories of her past teenage year with his late husband, can I do another version Phil?
waaaaaaaaaaa...i love this song...I dedicate this song to my one great love...uummwwaahhh!!!...thanx for this wonderful song...its really no other love for me but him...haaay,love you Bhe^__^
Phil,you are really amazing...looking forward for more songs...God bless^__^
Phil, that's really terrific of you to say that. This is a really comforting video and song after a hard day at work... I showed it to my Dad and he was happy! Forgot to tell you I finally completed his Lettermen albums with the last two missing Jim Pike albums "College Standards" and "Spin Away" patiently awaiting them in the mail! Oh and ADVANCED HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO YOU, PHIL!!! - Eman
