  • @elchami743 -- Yes, that's okay. This is also frequently used when you use your ability to influence the actions of others. For example, "I got the mechanic to fix my car for free because he didn't do a good job the last time I brought my car in." Or...."She got the restaurant to give her a free meal because there was a fly in her soup." Not everyone likes the way this sounds, but in American English you can say whatever you want.

  • how about 'I got the mechanic to fix my car'. verb changes to the infinitive form.

  • 'I got  the mechanic to fix my car' is good too.
