It seemed everyone's happy and jolly, but hopefully next time she'll speak more english, especially when addressing a crowd. Just like here in Canada, Non-Filipinos get kinda offended (it's kinda rude to them) when you don't speak english especially around them. As a pinoy immigrant in Canada (since '95) I've learned this early on at college. She just need to speak simple english for now, and they'll show back their appreciation.

Like many of you, I LOVE CHARICE JUST THE WAY SHE IS.

I'm surprise that some are bothered by her speaking Tagalog. I don't see anything wrong with that since the event was attended by predominantly Pinoys.

Most people in the U.S. are not affected at all if you speak a different language other than English. It is actually encouraged and most High Schools have LOTE

(Language Other Than English) as pre-req to graduate.

So yeah, my point is, Charice is comfortable with it, SO AM I!

I so agree. Please Charice, since you are in the state try to speak English as mush as you can. It's like Celine when she was starting and she needed to speak English all the time and so you can. It's easy to speak Tagalog esp. when you're around kapwa filipinos but it's advisable to talk English since you're in America. Not only will you perfect the English language but if you're promoting an album, sometimes americans get slighted when you speak you're own language. They feel segregated/excluded but if you try to speak english all the time they appreciate that a lot. They feel they're being included/embraced. Just an advise from an avid fan.

community (ganyan talaga kasi, malungkot pag walang kausap na pinoy) but then I'm just a housewife. as long as my husband and other friends understand my german, i couldn't care less. Also, german is a difficult language. I will never be able to speak it perfectly unless I want to become a teacher in german language. But Charice is a celebrity and has a career to look forward to and maintain, then she has to improve her english.

i agree, she should speak more in english even if there are many filipinos around. anyway, she already speak tagalog and the filipinos can around her can also speak english para lang naman ma-practice siya. if she is going to have a concert tour in the US to promote her album (i believe), she would do some more talking. remember, practice makes perfect. i live in germany. after living more than 20 years, my german is still not perfect. that's because i keep contact with the philippine-

On speaking English, my wife, who has been in the US over 20 years still speaks Tagalog when she gets together with other Filipinos. It's a culture thing and even though I don't speak Tagalog I understand them wanting to continue their culture. I just hope they aren't talking bad about ME!!! :-) .
