  • this song was already done remixed doin the same 2 songs before u did try not to do somthng others already did its called origanal duch bag

  • The original version is the version period. This is a hack job, can't believe Mike allowed this. Whats next remaking the remake?

  • Love this!

  • this is da jammin remix from da death row singles disk 2, da one mixed by death row records is way better, they got Mike Mcdonald himself to record a 2 min solo at the end of da song

  • this is da jammin remix from da death row singles disk 2

  • OMG I'v beeing looking for years for this mix not the same but still good thanks.. wicked..

  • OMG I'v beeing looking for years for this mix.. wicked

  • 16 in the clip and One in the HOLE!

  • i prefer the warren G version

  • @SuperWeedPower

there is no warren g version, michael mcdonald wrote the song warren g copied all the music warren g owes his entire career to ripping off this song otherwise he would just be another nobody selling drugs or working at mcdonalds

  • @SummernlightningUSA - There is no denying that Michael McDonald wrote the original song. However just because someone said they prefer the Warren G version doesn't give you the right to assume Warren G "owes his entire career" to ripping off Michael McDonald. In the music world there is a thing called sampling. Warren G got permission from Michael McDonald and his record label to sample the song. Try to live life with an open mind, it might surprise you. Whats wrong with enjoying both versions?

  • @SummernlightningUSA lol, but i prefer the g funk style

  • Could have used a better photo of poor old Mike lol

  • HAHAHa I keep forgetting to regulate. Genius!

  • Wow what a great mix. I could listen to this all nite.

  • love this version it was the radio version when above the rim came out ,i have it on tape. Are you using the original Micheal Mcdonald and Warren G remix or is this the same remix you have redone for us who remember it well.

  • @gothgal81

I remember that too, not in great detail though since it was now a PAINFULLY long time ago! But IIRC it had the "proper" start, with the Bob James sample more prominent?

  • The constant to this badass track is Jeff Porcaro's soulful work.

  • Hey this was done years and years ago and a better flow.

  • Nice!

  • VirtualDJ. :/

  • This is 20 star stuff man.... this works almost too well, HTF did you get any neg votes.

those folks are radically kin stupid!!! bitchin mix!

  • real nice

  • rolololón !!

  • Umm, this is the old song from the Warren G CD from 94 with a few extra sounds thrown in. Do not prop DJ Deve on this.

  • @gongfucobra It's a mashup of the original tune Warren G sampled ("I keep forgetting" by Michael McDonald") and the Warren G tune and a piano+pad outro of the melody. And what sounds like some sampled back cues... it is what it is.

  • Why do rappers say they "sampled" from other songs when in any other genere it would be stealing? Is it because they cant be held responsible because they have absolutely no musical talent and this is why they must steal everyone elses music and try to make it theirs?

  • @twiggy148

Bach. ALL i have to say. If you don't dig it..look it up

  • @twiggy148 Because songwriters 'gave' their music away in the late 70's-early 90's due to radio. They really got screwed in this time. But for real, was anyone else but 'rappers' bringing their music to a new ear... at least in the 90's?

  • @twiggy148 I think your stupid, any other genre really doesn't sample or "steal",and how is writing poetry and turning the poet into a song talentless?

  • I listened and I enjoyed it.

  • lots of static. if u could clean it up a little bit would be awesome

  • ever since I saw 40 year old virgin, I can't take Michael McDonald seriously. This makes me laugh hard.

  • man this is basicly the regulate Jammin remix that death row did with a few keys added into it

  • RIP NATE DEEZY

  • R.I.P Nate Dogg

  • hahahaha love it

  • dope! so thats where the sample comes from.

  • @timkul76 whosampled . com

  • i layed all theze niggaz out n let my gat explode

  • dj deve sucks

  • Michael McDonald looks like Teenwolf in this picture.

  • R.I.P. Nate Dogg. this song is amazing...bothe versions

  • RIP NATE DOGG, i can't belive that

  • Just lost the Smoothest Voice from the G-Funk Era. Let us all Regulate for the Nate Dogg!! R.I.P. Nate :-(

  • wtf

    whats this lame snare???

  • RIP Nate Dogg

  • Rest in peace Nate Dogg, you gave rap, soul and R & B, justice with your g funk.

  • @bood420

I'm assuming you're the cockmaster outside the convenience store smoking a blunt and eating nachos, always talking about your pimped out ride, but when it comes down to it you're rollin on your sister's little bitch ass hello kitty tricycle? This mix was PIMP.

  • @bood420 this isnt a mashup doofus, it's a blend, and it's a really good one

  • Both songs are great, this mix is twice great!

  • Fucken MORON

  • @bood420 way "too" mess up the language we all speak

  • @zoedog007 lmfao,!!! couldn't agree more!!!

  • Oh hell yes.

  • pretty good and i dont even like wrap

  • @bood420 Hi Hater, Im glad to see you posted your version of this mix on YouTube :)

  • YES!!!!!

  • @rbracken2 Thank you!

  • This is INCREDIBLE. :)

  • @joansii Thanks !!

  • the best of the best

  • I wonder what Jeff Porcaro's opinions would be on this...

  • This shit is badass!!!!! Big ups to DjDeve.

  • any chance this mix can be found online somwehre in mp3 format?

  • Sweet,sweet sweet!

  • Love this Mix , How can I get it??

  • Yeah G i can Feel ya there

  • What a great mashup! Thanks for sharing!

  • Exactly what i was looking for, was gonna listen to papoose chess, but this is perfect!

  • This mix is excellent!! I LOVE IT!

  • @trojanguri thanks!!

  • both songs are great.

  • Classic....

  • This Shit is FIA

  • It sure is easy to make a funky as beat when someone else does it for you before you are even born. This is worse than what hammer did to Rick James.

  • for some reason, I don't remember the warren G improvisation having the snare sound

  • This makes my balls feel magical.

  • @marcusblack1977 My gooch is glittery.

  • I like both version, but I love the bridge in Michael McDonald's version

it's a great clavinet part he's playing the hell of it , it make the song move along.

  • thank you for this, i love both versions so now i dont have to keep switching back and forth :D

  • I LOVE when good white music is made even better by groundbreaking black musicians!

  • @kcrehkopf

    LOL

FUCK YOU better, more like RUINED.

  • if you know like i know, you don't wanna step to this

  • What did you do to this tune,as i remember years ago the radio played this same version way back in the ninties.

  • ich liebe den track so!!!!! kann den shit immer wieder hören!!!!!

  • THIS IS SO HOT!

  • Would have been better with a seamless mix instead of the record scratch/skip effect.

  • I have always liked this song by Warren G and I love Michael McDonald. Good Job!

  • How to turn pure gold into pure shit.

  • I know what you mean Mikes is a classic, but i cant help but like this.

  • WOW!!! this is awesome

  • this is my jam right here

  • cl998. I keep forgetting Jammin Mix is what I am talking about. its a lot better than this. I still like this but I keep forgetting is 110x better.

  • This is not no Jammin Mix. I have the Jammix Mix on my Ipod plus many CD's. It don't sound like this at all. First of all it don't even start off like this. Unless this is another version.

The Jammix Mix happens to go a different way. Its one of my top 5 fav songs by the way. Warren G don't even sing the the entire vs on the Jammin Mix. I wish I knew how to post songs and stuff on youtube. And the end where Nate Dogg sings ain't in the jammin mix either. This ain't no jammin mix. I still like.

  • yup, you're right this not a jammin mix. I made it myself. I used the warren g - regulators, I cant remember because it was over a year ago I made this, but I think it was a select remix I used. The michael mcdonald vocals are from the original. The Warren G select mix had some periods where it was just the beat so I added the mcdonald vocals and just used a backspin on the turntable.

I did have found the jammin mix and its good too. Thanks for the feedback

  • bot of dem are good but THIS DJ be warren G ist better coz hes a G u know ^^

  • does anyone know where I can download this version?

  • Was there ever a version of Warren G's "Regulate" that used more than the tune, i.e. it actually had the "I keep forgettin'....." lyrics at the relevant parts?

I'm positive they used to play it on the radio years back, but I may just be getting confused with "Regulate" when it was big on air-time on regular stations, and "local" stations who probably played McDonald with this song at the same-ish time (damn, long time ago. :( ).

  • Oh im sure there are plenty of other versions of this mix out there and probably played on the radio at one time...

They do need to bring back the good McDonald and doobie brothers songs back onto the radio stations though !!

  • no youre right... there is definitely a version with the actual voice sample... ive heard it on the radio many a times... its actually the version i remember and was looking for here on yt now... i cant find it here on yt tho.. thanks for this upload wich comes closest :D

  • There is a version and it's called the jammin remix. You can find it on the UK Regulate single and it was on a Death Row records compilation recently, (I think Death rows Singles Collection)

  • Cheers! :D

  • Yep but it was banned because it was the lawyers made them stop sad really it was white lable and u cant get it for love nor money

  • @cl998 There was definetly a single released in the UK with Michael Macdonald, It was in the charts for a long time in about 1995, Don't know why it is not avaliable?

  • regulators version of the song with michael on the hook would be abit better. nice track though

  • I always wanted to hear this mix, nice work

  • thanks... I wish I could get the tempos to match a little bit better in the beginning but overall it came out good
