I have a 92 Lumina Euro 2 dr that is at 262,000 US miles. It's a one owner car. The car has never left the state of North Carolina, unfortunately, the rust from NC mountain winters is going to get to the car before the engine goes I am afriad.
While you brag about hitting 350k on your car, I brag about my lumina hitting 100k miles in a few months. :D I have a 1993 Chevy Lumina with about 97k miles on it.
I had a 92 lumina and it had a little over 220K US miles on it and it stil ran perfect like the day i bought it. It has the original fuel injected 3.1L engine and the original tranny in it wich is the 3speed one that they didnt make to many of. Im possitive its a 3speed.
I don't know if it's a record or not- I have two cars- my original first car is a 97 grand am SE with 502,000 US miles, bought it with 412,000 from a travelling businessman, my other is a 2005 eclipse gts with 22,000 LOL
I had a 93 Lumina Euro with 3.1L that I drove from 90,000km to 305,000km before I sold it. Very reliable car and still looked and drove like new. It had brake and suspension work over it's life, but the original engine and transmission had never been worked on -- just oil changes and fluid flushes. Those early 3.1L Multi-Port engines are 2nd only to GM's 3800 Series V6 in my opinion.
I also had a red 91 Lumina Z34 as a summer car, and it had over 300,000km as well when I sold it, with the original 3.4L Quad-Cam motor, and it only required 3 timing belt changes -- no other issues with that motor, and the 4-speed trans was untouched on that one too.
NIce I have a 1993 Grand Prix sedan with the 3.1L and four speed auto I have over 179,000 miles and it will still spin the tires for a good four feet from a dead stop and it has a tone of passing power. I love the gage cluster in mine its got every gage that you need oil pressure, voltage ex and its got power everything, duel exhuast and sport body molding with the 16 inch wheels they look like fans LOL. I have to make a vid a put it up.
I have a 1991. 6 cyl, 3.1L. She's 18. Only has 125,000 miles on it though. I love the feeling of leaving new cars at red lights. You guys over 200k miles rock. I just need somebody to "Pimp my ride"..
i bought a 91 chev lumina 3.1 littre with only 14000 kms and now running on its 3rd year with 42000 running strong hoppin to make it as far as u guys lol
lol good job, well good luck with that, lol going to take a while. honestly the only way these things ever break is from miss use or crashes and mine has been hit by two 18 wheelers and both times started right up. keep it up man good luck
well i have been hit once but it was minor althought i did get a electric start added and that beleive it or not put the lumina out of service for a winter wouldnt run right so i took that shit out and now she runs nice and clean again
Ok, I have to add this. My friend and I, as teenagers (we're now 30) noth had '91 Luminas. Both made it over 375,000 KM, mine died but his made it to 425,000+ KM, reliably. It died honourably though. I now have a '91 Corsica, running strong. They don't make cars like this anymore, they probably never will. Thanks for sharing!
I remember having a '92 3.1 Lumina base model. They're reliable cars and drive like champs no matter the mileage!! lol. Too bad I wrecked it :( Oh well, now I'm driving a '91 Bonneville with a 3800 that has 220,000 miles!! It still runs like a champ! It's quite a bit quicker than my Lumina even.
I bought a 1993 lumina 3.1 in oct 2007 for $400 all it needed was breaks i did those and oil changes all i spen on the car was maybe $750 total with all that, I got it with 217,000 and now its at 298,600 and still runs great, it needs rear suspension and spark plugs now but that will only cost $375 for both and i know the engine will keep going they just don't die, there life limit on the 3.1 is just as good as those lil honda civic engines
yes i still have it now! i wont get rid of this car! it has something like 360,000km right now, because the car clicked over to 350,000km like a 2 months ago.
ya i know a guy who had the same engine (not a lumina but the exact same engine) and he put 399,000 before the body got so bad it wouldn't pass safety and had to get rid of it, the sad part is he said it still ran like new
holy crap man thats nice! lol i love going to oil change places or shops and they ask me how many km are on the car and they always have a hard time beliving it:P
had 214 or 314K MILES on my mom's back when we owned it in 2001

yep that sounds about right, every 100k does the timing belt only need to be changed :)
