Not to demerit the technical aspects of the video, but this has as much to do with KDE as it has to do with a panda eating a grilled cheese sandwich. A person who doesn't know what KDE is will look at this and wonder if it has to do with transportation - even to me it looked more like a cellphone ad.
This was produced for the KDE 4.0 launch at Google back in January. When it was presented, Aaron Seigo did the voiceover. Without the voiceover it doesn't mean much.
KDE was what originally put turned me off from Linux, I never really did like the KDE 3 interface. I finally went Linux with Ubuntu and GNOME a while ago, and loved it.
I have been following KDE 4 since it's release. Honestly, 4.0 left me less than impressed. But the latest release, 4.1.1, is excellent, and I have switched from GNOME to it. The interface is very intuitive, and holds a lot of promise for now and the future.
What was used to edit this video? I can imagine Kdenlive being used for the most part, but the ending looks too advanced for a movie/video editor like that (not saying Kdenlive isn't great, it just isn't designed for things like that).

Very nice video. But what is the KDE near obsession with clocks :)

Very well executed! Top notch video editing and idea here.
I could never get used to KDE, sadly. Gnome all the way for me.

You might like trying version 4.1 ? ;) ... Thanks for nice comments !:)
JuniadKhan 3 years ago
I honestly haven't. I've tried 4.0; though. And 3.5
Adept, Konqueror, the control panel, and the silly names all beginning with K kind-of put me off.
I might try it again in the future, but for my needs, gnome is the one to go with for now.

what camera was used?
spec400 4 years ago
We actually used a Digital Camera (yeah) ... and not Broadcast at all, the Canon S3iS.
JuniadKhan 3 years ago
just this? for this awesome footage? but isnt it a normal photocamera? some scenes are made with video, I guess.
spec400 3 years ago
Absolutely not... It is a strictly classical digital camera.
