Although it could be "indeed," "and deed" makes a lot of sense. I take Him at His word and deed could simply mean, I trust him for what He says and what He did for me. Looking at the next line, "Christ died to save me," furthers this thought. Christ dying for us is a deed; in fact, the most important deed of all, the key component to Christianity. Just a thought.

This makes more sense since the singer is acknowledging how "unskilled" he is to understand the sacrifice that Jesus did for all mankind. I think that line is another way of saying..."I take Your word for it" because Jesus just did not say it but did it (deed). Hope this explains the confusion...love and peace!
