This'd work better in MvC3, where inputs done during the super flash are kept. In SSFIV, however, if you push a button during the super flash, 99% chance your move didn't come out. This is why you should delay your counter ultra a bit more. Had you given the opponent the chance to actually push any buttons, they would likely have fallen for it.

Sticks aren't the number one thing for fighting games. Look at fanatiq, and all those guys who use Hit Boxes, which are actually 10x better than using a stick since it's a bajillion times more accurate.
