I find that your "crappy" Instamatic photos are fantastic, and really capture the essence of the time. Nowadays we run our smartphone snaps through Instamatic-inspired filters to give them the same authentic look!
I was there also like you I was still in high school and from Peoria drove there with a friend and stayed at the YMCA it was like 20 to stay a night will never forget sat I'm the front row to right of the stage
I just got home from "Star Trek the Experience" here in St.Louis at the Science Center. Pretty cool, of course they had a rep. Kirk's chair you could get your photo in with a green screen TOS bridge. And some other really neat stuff including a Borg Sphere from First Contact. cool vid... Jeff
@TrekWorks We went to the Roddenberry event in Madison too. It was the first time I got to see the coveted "Star Trek Blooper Reel" I missed the souvenir booth, but had already purchased a lot of stuff from Lincoln Enterprises through their mail order.
I adore this! I've not gotten to see something so personal in a format like this... thanks! I also want to comment that I used this as a reference on the convention for a paper I wrote in the study of popular culture.

How Wonderful,
I was 13 years old at ht e time and lived in Janesville, WI.
I wanted to go so bad but couldn't talk my parents into it.
I did get to see Gene Roddenbery at a theater in downtown Madison
somewhere around that time. He talked a little trek and of the up coming movie.
I still have a Tribble and small pewter Enterprise pendant we bought from
Gene's Lincoln Enterprises booth up front.
Thanks for bringing back some great memories.

This is an incredible historical Trek Con documentation. Bravo! I was 6 at the time and lived in Chicago. Wish I could have gone!

@unravioli Thanks..Glad you enjoyed it. The convention had a nice family-gathering type of feel...just friends all getting together.
