  • Shlomo Mintz is one of the 4-5 greatest violinists all over the world

  • there is a distinct difference between it being easy and him making it look easy, and although mintz in all his amazingness is good at making it look effortless in his performances...it still doesnt look easy lol

  • Shlomo Mintz is a beast.

  • ładnie gra moja siostra prawie tak samo to gra

  • What a session : like misunderstanding between Shlomo and film makers ! Fffew, it's over !

  • you can tell if he likes this part or not just by his playing, but his face. lol 2:53 he's sleeping like a baby

  • my exam piece, I passed but the practice WAS HELL

  • memorizing paganini is half the battle

  • hahaha floating bagpipes

  • tal vez esta inspirado por la gaita jajajaja¡

  • brilliant

  • whats up with the bag pipes

  • The drone D is similar to that of bagpipes. Paganini imitates the sounds trumpets, horns, flutes, etc. throughout the caprices. This series of videos displays images of the imitated instruments.

  • @MattyOBrian1 i thought it was a chandelier... thanks for enlightening me

  • he messes up at 52-56 and gets back on at 57. anyone else hear the slip?

  • No. What are you talking about?

  • no man he doesnt mess up

  • Dont rate im thumbs down, first look at the score.. He is right, he plays bar 18 twice and doesnt play bar 17... but maybe his interpretation, because the second time he plays it again like that around 3:40.. sounds nice anyway.

  • @Sorcerer2k

He is playing exactly what is written in the Schirmer's edition. I have the sheet music right now in front of my face.

  • exelenteeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • that trill... is just awesome!!

  • por que cuando tok piensa en una gaita

  • si que extraño...

  • paganini IS super incredible. :)

    god...

  • Paganini's style is just so amazing and unique. The pieces take such intense technique and require so much skill to play his pieces. Greatly played.

  • not human!!! jedi of violin jeje QUI GONN MINTZ????

  • ill bet you when the devil himself has to play his violin, all he plays is paganini

  • wowowowowow amazing

  • paganini = not easy.

  • bagpipes appearing above him = creepy

  • lol

  • nice sound

  • Beautiful !

  • To all the idiots that say "Caprice X is very easy" I would like to see a video of you playing (GOOD) the caprices you consider so easy.

  • @Underheifetz , the idiots who say that something is easy are the idiots who never did what they consider easy. Not only, if you look at their channel, they never upload any of their playing. I have seen that pattern on youtube for years now.

  • @Underheifetz indeed

  • @Underheifetz i never saw someone saying that xD

  • BRAVO!!

  • love it! absolutely perfect. and the middle part... wow!!!

  • I thought it was a ship with sails on it at first but the playing made me realize that it sounds like a bagpipe but kind of random anyways lol.

  • quem é violinista concorda, se paganini ouvisse isso , se emocionaria!

  • The wonderful Mintz!!!! I can't hear enough of him!

  • I finally get the bagpipes floating above his head! The first section sounds a bit like bagpipes with the D drone.

But an excellent clean, super clean. I especially love how concise the section jumping between the G and the E string is.

  • Thanks for the insight. I don't even want to say what I thought it was. The whole disembodied floating instrument thing is kinda campy no?

  • The middle section in particular is absolutely brilliant.

  • Lol at the bagpipes floating above him lol

  • who cares which one is the easiest or most accesible or whatever? it really depends on your skill, talent, and wherever you live. no offense, but most of you guys are wasting your time arguing about that kind of stuff...

anyhow, im playing this at 13 now, and its not that hard, but that's just my opinion...

  • damn you if you lie and damn you if you truth. your either a liar or a snooty narcissist...

  • wow ok im sorry :/

im probably not in a place to say this, but that hurt a little :D haha but yeah im sorry, if that's the right thing to say...

  • don't be so envious! =P

  • I agree, for me it's too hard. But not easy... like a "moderate hard" =P

  • @funsizeazian able to play is one thing. Just like an animal can run. but is how fast, how good can they run. Masters dont say any masterpieces easy. Hence i'll presume you're just some mediocre violinist:).

  • Someone who calls himself a good violinst can't be that good and will never reach a professional level

  • dont you see? hes not good... hes excellent

  • waikikit2, 13 is probably the most "ACCESSIBLE" of the 24 caprices. 14 is NOT the easiest NOR the most accessible due to the nature of the chords.

Every player will approach the 24 differently and find several caprices that are much easier due to their specialization.

For me, #20 is difficult because I am bad at machine-gun trills, for example.

  • You are right!!! Thanks for your reply.

  • with this piece in ABA form, what's the reddish thing that appears in the two A sections?

  • It's a little cheesy, but it is a picture of bagpipes, no doubt because of the open D string acting as a drone.

  • thanks

  • The easiest is 14, not this. It is certain that you are not learning at all.

  • But Caprices 14 contains a lot of continuous tenth intervals. Although they are not harmonics but it is hard to make your fingers open widely and at the same time to make a little spiccato between the low notes and high notes. However, none of the Caprices 24 is easy... Haha, That's waht I think. Maybe you think that 14 is easier than 20 because all of us have different capability.

  • There are no 10th intervals in Paganini Caprice No. 14, there are only chords. You don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

  • yes there are.....

  • the easiest is 16

  • I think the easiest one is 20. Caprices 20 is more melodic which is easier to memorize compare to 16. All of us have different approaches. Look at happyfunnyfoo reply.... Hahaha

  • To play 16 in its original speed is not easy. If you play so slow, all the caprices can be easy. I think 14 is the easiest of all.

  • none of these pieces are "easy" so stfu.

  • i love his playin and i love to play it

  • I dont believe...!!!the best version!!!!

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • The best !!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing... very inspiring playing by Shlomo Mintz. Thanks for posting these!
