@Darksiegify you should get both. If you just get Operation Arrowhead if you try to join a server with ArmA 2 content you won't be able to join which is most servers really. At least popular ones. I'd advise everyone to get both Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead, you will end up buying it sooner or later anyway and if you don't get both I think you'll miss out on the cool stuff both games bring. You won't be able to run Combined Operations if you don't get both (Meaning Arma 2 + OA).

@Darksiegify A little late to the party, but I'd go with OA if you can only buy just 1. The main reason is that you can combine it with ArmA 2 Free to make Combined Ops, although the A2 assets will have lousy textures and sounds.

I love this game aswell it's just a shame that some players are assholes on it. I've had this game for like a week and as soon as they find out I'm new they start to treat me like crap. ''Oh no your a noob so get out of the car, we don't need you''. It happens in all games but in this one people really overdo it. It might make the game more popular if the players were more empathetic and helpful instead of isolated and rude.

@Taimoor517 I don't think there are any cracked servers, most servers run signature scanning which blocks cracked users from playing the game. Arma has a very good community base and it's not that much to pay for the game, just buy it really, you won't get in any servers.

@javafraps there are communities and clans that take the game very serious by playing in a militarized style with ranks and groups ect. Played on many servers that like to role-play but some people take it a bit far and it can get rather annoying. But most players even on public servers work well as a team on a whole.

@blacklightning98 on domination you can link youself into squad with as many people are playing, so litrally the whole server can join into one squad unlike BF where it's limited. Can be a really good experience, and even more so when everyones on TS together.

@blacklightning98 cant say allot about squads in Domination. some servers have a automatic squad setup with 1 group leader, and on this server everyone start on their own but you can join up whit other players if you want.

@Subcidal I understand your point. Neither of us have played Battlefield 3 yet (obviously) so I neither of us can be sure either way, like how you believe BF3 will be a letdown. And I'm sure you're aware of this, but Black Ops is Call of Duty and separate from the Battlefield series. I have fun playing COD games like I have fun at an action movie, entertaining and fun. I do not like COD multiplayer. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on the other hand is exactly my type of game, multiplayer and all.

@Subcidal Also, don't get me wrong, I'm not an ArmA-hater. I enjoy the series just like I enjoy Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. I'm excited for ArmA 3 as well & hopefully it's awesome like in the Trailer, but again neither of us can be sure until we play it. However, I still prefer Battlefield 3 over ArmA 3. Things I would have changed about BF: BC2 are the addition of jets and larger maps. Though multiplayer maps in BC2 are generally large already, larger maps are always welcome.

@Subcidal Oh, and going prone. In Bad Company 2 you couldn't go prone which I thought was ridiculous and a real disappointment, but not a deal breaker for favoring the game. In Battlefield 2, the upcoming Battlefield 3, OFDR, ArmA 2, even in COD games, etc, you can go prone so I couldn't wrap my mind around why they left that out of BC2.

@wweironman12XBLGT the Alienware M11x is an expensive buy at $749 but it's good there's also CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA106 Desktop Computer which goes for around $430 but the cheapest I could find would be a Dell with Windows XP for $299 and I don't think it's very good, but the computer I have is good it's the Dell Inspiron and that's about $400 hope that helps, also if you wanted you could try to work with some people to build your own computer

@Xsidon You don't need a tutorial, mate. I bought this for my friend about 4 days ago and he's flying and driving and shooting just fine. It helps to have someone to point out the controls for you, like I did for him, but you can easily do without that. Just look at the key mapping in the options and you'll be fine.

If I understand correctly, I can just buy either OA or Arma2 in order to play but it is better to buy both (there is a pack on Amazon).

The only question is: should I also buy bof if I buy the combined operation? Would it be very useful?

@ghune if you buy both arma 2 and operation arrowhead (which is what combined operations is) then you'll be able to access all OA servers even if they are using Arma 2 content, which quiet a lot do, because theres weapons and the jets get frequetly used.

@SanosVerdi upgrade the graphics card and you might get away with low and med settings not sure but the ghz is good and 2 gbs is required so get something a little better and youll be able to play no doubt
