The problem with the Confederate flag goes back to the Civil Rights movement and the segregationists hijacking it promote their cause. The Confederate flag being uniquely linked to slavery is a nice little trick played by white liberals in linking every problem in society with the African American community to slavery. Confederate flag = segregation, plausible; slavery = US flag just as much historically. Plessy vs. Ferguson was not just a law in the South. Remember Jews drink Christian blood.
