  • When ya got " it"-ya got "it". And she's still got "it".

  • very charming

  • Met this lovely lady in England in `93 when she was 50. Had just watched a solo concert by her in Guildford Surrey England. Had a brief chat with her afterwards and she was as a delightful lady as her angelic voice. Still have the signed photo now in a frame.

I believe it wasn`t long after her husband passed away but this lady`s light shone through as always. Thanks Judith.

  • she still has a great voice-we all get older looking-eventually but nothing wrong with that-

  • Aging gracefully FTW.

  • Along with Karen Carpenter and Annie Haslam, Judith is one of my favorite for women pop singers.

  • what an angel!

  • She still has a strong voice.

  • Well squirrell, I'm sorry for your visual troubles. You obviously have a strange concept of beauty. However, it is in the eyes iof the beholder. She has the finest female voice that I have heard in my, not inconsiderable experience. She could have been an internationally successful opera Diva, had she so chosen..

  • THE ORIGINAL SEEKERS WERE CLEAN-CUT.

  • Judith will always be #1 in my book, she was a pioneer bringing an Australian group to the world back in the 60s, and the Seeker music is everlasting, now looking at all of her interivews, reveals that she is quite gentle and intelligent at that, Im having a great time being re-introduced to Judith Durham and the Seekers, you go Judith!!

  • Not being rude, I promise, but Judith was never a beauty, was she? I mean, she came across as a middle class, respectable cchurgh-going young lady in the 1960.

She could be an Atheist for all we know (or care) but, in Dublin, she could have passedherself off as a Good Holy Oirish Catholic or in Belfast as a Grand Wee Good Holy Ulster Protestant Lassie. And we would have all believed her. But she's nearly 70 now. At least she's not using Botox. She ages GRACEFULLY.

  • @squirell1952 wrong. she was very beautiful when she was younger

  • I had never heard her speak before, so her voice seems a bit lower, but her singing voice is the same as in the 60s...beyond description. Maybe her speaking voice has always been like that.

  • judith durham has a voice amazing still I love her

  • Whooo Im glad shes still around

  • Oh my God, she is still beautiful but I don't mean no offense I couldn't have imagine her getting old. In my mind she is always that very young pretty girl who sang Georgie Girl and I want to preserve her like that.

It makes me sad to think that time had changed the people I've seen and places I've been to, and I realize that I myself is no longer the same, I was a kid back then in the early 70's and I almost forgot how I look like now, an aging swain.

  • It's sad that so many talented people think that their "run" will go on forever & do things like break up groups or take time off. Fans have lost so much talent. But then I guess it allows new talents to bud and bloom. Still...

  • ArepoEn-- you have some serious writing chops-- I will read your biography of the seekers if you write it. We are on the same wavelenght about Judith, and anyone living who has heard her voice is the better for it. To my fellow torchbearers--keep it old school or no school, and if you hear anyone putting the seekers down, they simply havent been enlightened....

  • sweetheart !!

  • She didn't need to use vocal acrobatics or emulate anyone else, as so many have. Her voice quality, tone and pitch are unique to her and in the top 10 favorite singers of my lifetime. I am 59 years old and have heard many.

  • I'm embarrassed to admit that I thought The Seekers were English. As an American, I only knew of Rolf Harris [early 60s] and then The Bee Gees from 1967 on.

I saw a video on youtube of them singing "I'll Never Find Another You", maybe from 80's or later. I am amazed and very pleased that Judith could sing as well as ever and sang it the same as the original. Note for note.

  • Pure Class

  • What a nice Lady!

  • @Richaag and very a liberal lady, I might add.

  • Everytime I see Judith, I fall in love all over again!!!!

  • Just watched "Big Hits" on BBC iPlayer & it shows the performance of The Seekers on TOTP so just wanted to know who that amazing Vocalist was. Stunning Vocals.

  • Thanks for sharing. Judith is one of the most underrated singers of the last 50 years (mention her name in the UK and US and I imagine there will be a lot of blank looks), and it was good to see her so enthused and cheerful.

  • Wow! Fantastic. Interesting to note that the retro performance was just about before they were due to break up.

  • You needed to do other things?? Robert Evan's First Rule Of Economics : If you have a money machine ride the damned beast till it drops dead. Then light a fire under it and ride it a few more miles.

  • She still sounds wonderful.

  • got it! been buggin' me who she looks like. Helen Thomas.

  • @Stube437 oh well, we cant all stay young forever.I am 42, wish i could look like i did when i was 17.

  • Still the greatest voice, and still as cute as a bug's ear!!!

I have a crush on here- all over again!

  • And she was no cute, too!

  • still just as lovely x

  • She still sounds great!

  • thank you for the upload !

  • what a person...amazing...

    love from the USA

  • She handles the dumbass comment about "you're making a comeback..." with typical charm and restraint. There's no "comeback" to make. She's never left, always a vital artist. Geez...

  • Amazing Judith!

  • Even just sitting on the chair without all the swaying & bounce I remember her doing, Judith Durham still projects that wonderful & beautiful spirit that's the very same vibe that warms anyone & everyone's heart & soul. Her voice is still gold !!

  • She's not a "former" Seeker. She IS the lead singer of The Seekers. Now and forever.

  • She has jowls!

  • @Dionysius63 Nice comment. Oh, and go to hell...

  • @Dionysius63 So will you when you reach her age.

  • Judith, it's great to see you still singing with the gifts that were given. Why don't you offer the song to your big horse race? I know before each Triple Crown horse race they sing a song of the state.

  • Greetings from America!

If I want to see great horse racing (the entire package, including talented, refreshing, & funny race callers and their pals in the booth), I have to "go" to Australia (via Internet).

I thought that was “bad” enough. But now, I find out here, today, that I have to go down under to see an intelligent "Today Show."

    Thanks!

  • wow.great voice

  • How could we ever get enough of this beautiful woman. I have been in love with her since the 1960s - her voice is the best I have ever heard - no question.

  • Just think we all got to get old some day

  • It was really wonderful of you to put his clip on, what a treat to see Judith again as she now is.

  • What a legend!

  • Hey, Australia,

If you have any more singers of this quality, please send them up here to the US; we need them EVER so much!

  • judith your beautiful voice has never

been matched what a lovely person you are

  • Please come to america, we still love you and always will.I am working on my 42 year of my crush on you.

  • Jeeze...does this woman ever so much as stumble?

    What a treasure she is.

  • A LUNG CONDITION AND STILL CAN SING LIKE A BIRD. I suppose that when you have such an abundance of vocal talent you can lose something and still be brilliant.

  • Us children of the sixties were very lucky Dusty, Petula, Judith etc etc

  • @barneswriter i was born in 1960 but luckily i prefer this music to modern day music ..

  • I loved you then Judith and I love you now. And bless you for showing sensitivity and respect for the indigineous peoples of Oz.. God bless you - Rene

  • What a wonderful human being ...........

  • What a marvelous women and the wonderful voice she has. Still singing those glories songs

from the 60ty's and still going strong. What a treasure to find again after so many years.

I've got to get some of her new music.

  • Still a lovely lady!

  • What an amazing woman. She's fantastic.

  • I have much respect for this woman, and her musical gift is a treasure to behold. Thanks.

  • Onya Judith for acknowledging Australia's Indigenous people. A great option for a change.

  • I hope she comes to the US. I would love to hear Judith, Judy Collins and Joan Baez do a few songs together.

  • Boy all this talk about who has the best female voice--everyone has their favorite so let's just a appreciate all the great female artists from the 60'-Petula, Dusty, Judith, "Spanky" Macfarlane--they are all wonderful. My favorite is Petula and her song "Don't Sleep in the Subway". I could listen to that song for hours on end and still not be bored with it--she really hits the notes on that song!

  • I loved all that you mentioned!

  • Sad to see her looking so frail. This interview looks like areal effort.

  • Think you might be outvoted on that one... in this forum anyway! You must admit at least that Judith has the edge on Sarah for NOT recording "I Lost My Heart To A Starship Trooper" ;)

  • @mondoftw . They both have great voices. Each unique. But to suggest Sarah's is any way "better" than Judith's is of course, demonstably absurd...

  • @mondoftw whatever....

  • @akibubba1 whatever......

  • @mondoftw `Sarah Who? What the hell did she EVER do? Judith Durham had a worldwide following, #1 hits on all the charts, and sold millions of albums. Sarah Who hasn't cracked the top 25 on any chart other than some obscure Gospel chart.

  • wow, she still keeps her long hair! I bet that's how everyone will recognize her!

  • After all these years,Judith still has the voice of an Angel!!

  • The greatest female vocalist ever. Her best vocals are on Danny Boy,Island of dreams, All over the world and Cakewalking babies back home. Listen to them here on you tube and tell me if you think i am right.

  • @6glenn9 I agree best female voice ever.Next in my opinion is Karen Carpenter.

  • @MrFootfree01 Claire Torry has a good voice too.Great Gig in The Sky

  • @MrJacMac1986 Will check her out. Never heard of her.

  • Judith Durham :-)

    lots of love from INDIA....

  • One of the very few in the 60's having a cup of tea. Haha.

  • Judith is the greatest popular female vocalist ever, my personal favorite, and wish she would do a US tour.

As to "Advance Australia Fair" I'm sorry she wasted time fiixing something that wasn't broke.

  • @Brian54M

I agree. I guess theres nothign wrong with recreating it. However it's kind of like changing the flag. Just...yeah...

  • Not many singers can move me the way this fantastic lady can... she's such an angel and it's not just that voice I'm referring to! Keep it up, Judith, and I pray that your new endeavour will bring you much joy and blessings!

  • Judith...what can I say? The one and only! Lots of love from Singapore ;-)

  • Judith is 66 now and she is still beautiful !! I wish I could look that good at 66 ! I don't like some of these comments on here. Judith is beautiful ! And there will never be another singer like her, never. What a woman . . .

  • Couldn't agree with you more. Her voice is in fine form and she truly is one of a kind. She's looking pretty good for her age too.

  • Her spirit still does emanate sweetness.

  • jane...girl... who cares if she looks old or young... she got one of the best voices around the world. An now she sings better than ever...

  • What a beautiful voice! She is such a lovely person. Hearing her '93 reunion concert on YouTube was wonderful. If she was here I'd give her a big hug. We still love you in America too, Judith.

  • Im in Love, even though Judith is 25 years my senior, she is the epitome of a Goddess.

  • The Interviewer mentions other Australian acts such as the BeeGees, they were not Australian they were born in the UK and have Manchester accents, they only lived in Oz for a few years.

  • In Australia she is a Godess! For those of us old enough to remember The Seekers, she is indeed special!

  • She is a goddess everywhere.

  • Judith is such a gracious and modest lady - a pleasure to see her on here.

  • What a silly comment. I think Judith looks and sounds great for her age. At least she is keeping real about it. With her talent, who cares if she doesn't go under the knife. Tsk, tsk!

  • I understand what you are getting at. We've all seen the pictures of what she looked like throughout the sixties. That was 40+ years ago!! Bound to be a few changes within that time. You'll understand more about that AFTER you finish puberty. C'mon...have a little respect. She's a first class lady.

  • You're class Matey! Real 100% pure class!

  • Grow up there little boy and stop the name calling. You are only making yourself appear inept, stupid and silly; which I believe "drongo" is by definition.

  • Well heck yes, if Farnham can do it you can do it! And see if you can find a couple of guitarists and a bass player to join you. And then come to the U.S...

  • Wow! Incredible for 66!

  • Judith just keeps getting more creative and ADORABLE!!!

  • There are good singers, there are very good singers, there are even excellent singers. And than there is Judith Durham, a unique singular cathegory without equal. This is where unique singing of unforgettable songs, personality and beauty meet in an unlikely coincidence. Love from the Czech republic...

  • Judith, we love you & your work. Thanks for everything.

  • Oh so good and long overdue. Judith is the respected and loved Australian that can influence such essential changes to our poorly sung Anthem. After "Sorry" so wonderful to keep moving forward with comtempory lyrics for our song.

  • Our beautiful little aussie princess is still absolutely charming and completely adorable as ever!...We can only hope that she will decide to tour the UK again...Judith please come back, it would be a dream come true to see you perform live.

  • @dazbluey Ithink she is wonderful too and should make EVERY Aussie proud. My grandad was a bit of picky so and so but he singled Judith out and he loved her. She has one of the purest voices I have ever heard.

I'm not an Aussie but there ya go

  • Actually, Judith failed to mention that the words of the other verses of the original song, though meaningful to those of us who are English would be highly offensive to many independently-minded Aussies. Google it. :-)

  • She didn't fail to mention it - in the context of the interview it was more important to mention the offence some members of the indigenous population take to the existing anthem. The other verses generally don't get sung. Judith's not at all interesting in bagging the existing anthem, in fact she has retained several lines from it, including the title. She is merely putting this one out there as a more relevant alternative should the moment for change transpire in the future.

  • Thanks so much for posting. Judith Forever!!

  • As seekuk said - Fantastic! And as another 60 something I also utter the plea - "Please, please, please Judith, come back to the UK - my piggy bank is running short of funds for trips down under"

  • And the US!!

  • A class act all the way. Simply a beautiful woman with a voice that a heavenly choir would envy. So nice to know that she is continuing to perform and record. As long as Judith Durham is in this world, all is not lost.

  • FANTASTIC. JUDITH TOUR THE UK PLEASE?

  • wow simply stunning brings back great memorys .

  • How do you get more beautiful, earnest, real, and charming? Well, you don't...
