  • Would you kindly send me this game as a Steam gift?

  • Would you kindly thumbs up if your mind was blown when you first realized he kept saying " would you kindly" lol

  • Would you kindly get an arrow in the knee.

  • Would you kindly release Infinite for fucks sake?

  • 2k Games/Irrational Games....would you kindly stop forcing us to use shitty Games for Windows Live?

  • Frank Fontaine <3

  • @paul209stevens a man chooses, a slave obeys. no thanx im good

  • A man chooses to like a video. A slave obeys the flows of the public, liking what he sees others like. Which are you? Slave or man?

  • what happens when you say "would you kindly never obey me again?"

  • Would you kindly take an arrow to the knee

  • would you kindly 1would you kindly would you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you kindlywould you

  • I used to be a slave and obey, then I took an arrow in the knee.

  • @SpinalTree stfu, everybody says that on youtube and its not fucking funny.

  • would you kindly quit buttfucking the phrase would you kindly?

  • I so vividly remember my first play-through. The plane crash. Encountering that first splicer The palpable rush when you inject the electro-shock plasmid and get "a fistful of lightning." The game just pulls you with its story, its look, the gameplay. I would retire to Rapture, new or old. The only game that has ever messed with you like Bioshock is Eternal Darkness.

  • Ryan: stop, would you kindly

    ,sit ,would you kindly,

    run,

Player: ahhhhhhh you didn't say the magic words :D

  • still wanna know why ryan played along with fontaines' made up story bc if he knew that fontaine was atlas why put the dude you play as go through all that shit

  • Is kindly a verb now? :P

  • I have to say, the idea of transplanting a brain by makeing you a slave everytime you say "Would you kindly" is rather silly...but somehow it works!

  • i remember when i got this scene...

my mind was spinning like CRAZZZYYYY!!

  • They need more of these kind of epic plottwists in games :D!

  • @tijnmans In a million years. Movies don't even serve up plot twists this huge, and unexpecting!

  • @superjchamma Then you don't watch many good movies lol.

  • You know, even if Ryan dies on his own terms, he could have easily killed Jack right there and then... has anyone ever asked why he chooses to have Jack kill him instead of stop Fontaine's plans?

  • @KingdomRider92 If he choose to kill Jack nothing will happen, the war between Ryan and Atlas will still goes on. Ryan choose to die free and prove that Jack was a slave, that way Jack seek for the freedom and killed Atlas.

    So Ryan wins.

  • @KingdomRider92 If you were to ask me, I would say he asks Jack to kill him rather then stop fontiane, not for him to die, but I think hes trying to snap Jack out of it, and my guess would be that he thought for sure it would work.

  • 63 degrees and a 2 north

    29 degrees and a 55 west

    1.fly there

    2.crash

    3.????

    4.RAPTURE!

  • alright listen up. here's to everyone who doesn't understand the plot. "would you kindly" is pretty much a hypnosis.. just like the movie the Manchurian candidate. whenever the solders heard. " -your name-. Sgt -your name- Sgt marshal -your name-" there were automatically hypnotized. Jack was biologically engineered in rapture. he was born there. he was there from the start. so whenever you say "would you kindly" he has no choice but to obey.

  • Nevermind, I forgot to apply the patch that was on the dvd and now everything is ok

  • I'm playing this game for a week now, i got to this scene yesterday and I must say its incredibly good!

Just a question: I bought the original copy but I don't know why are the words "would you kindly" written in BLACK. Maybe the developers changed it......

  • I regret killing Ryan....

    1) He was my father

    2) He was nice compared to Fontaine!

  • I love bioshock and this is one of those reasons.

  • Nunca joguei esse game, mas tem cara de ser muito bom devido a história e os gráficos do game.

  • Kould wou yindly?

  • I remember when they where explaining the "would you kindly" thing and right there a flood of understanding came through me that i wasnt really getting help on how to solve shit, i was told to do so.It also explained the chain tattoo on your wrist.Though it was just a tat but in a way it was telling you the whole time you where a slave and you where just too stupid to realize it.That pissed me off (in a good way)something a game has never done to me til Bioshock.

  • I love how he plays golf thoughout this, Here comes my murderer yet with him directly in face while talking to him I put perfectly. Its like if Tiger Woods was playing golf in his car.

  • I love how he plays golf thoughout this, Here comes my murderer yet with him directly in face while talking to him I put perfectly. Its like if Tiger Woods was playing golf in his car.

  • I wish I could play this game, seems awesome...but infortunately I cant play first person shooters.

  • @nikker1985 Why not?

  • @Mrchipples

I ve spent countless hours playing videogames, but FPS games make me want to vomit my brains out after 10 minutes.I did try Bioshock 2.

What an amazing universe. The music, the posters, the hole scenery. If they made it 3rd person I d play the shit out of it.

  • Im Irish! I loved the Fact that they made Atlas Irish at the start!

  • Would you kindly thumb this video up?

  • @DavidELD No... please no... please don't make me... NOOOOOOO *clicks thumbs up* DAMMIT!!!

  • Would you kindly play Bioshock again

  • Who else started saying would you kindly after playing this?

  • Would you kindly stop asking for thumbs up by saying would you kindly?

  • @HopefulNinja question y does ryan say to the player to kill him?

  • Stop saying would you kindly... Would you kindly?

  • Saw it coming

  • Guys, making a comment starting with "would you kindly" and some half-ass attempt at a clever joke is not only shitty and unfunny, but it's also unoriginal as hell.

  • @BlackChipmunkParade Yeah i guess that may be why they had to add the atlas -> Fontaine bit. For the "special" people that may not understand

  • best game plot twist of all time imo

  • would you kindly grab a crowbar or something?

  • @wfcxtoxic Would you Kindly pick up that shortwave radio

  • Nice Work, Boyo

  • This and Minerva's Den plot's were fucking amazing.

  • My mind was raped when this happened.

  • love this line

  • Oh this turning point is similar to Portal 2 's O.o

  • best twist ever

  • I kind of regret killing Ryan :/ to be honest

  • what kind of 3 trols could thumbs down

  • Would you kindly turn around and watch the machine instead of the door? The machine is far more interesting and animated than the static door that was just sitting there.

  • i don't recall them explaining how he was controlled. i have beaten the game twice mabey they didn't explain it, but i probably missed it.

  • @moolate127

Suchong put it in him as a mental trigger. Its never explained precisely how.

I love how this is pretty much the only cutscene in the entire game that you can't control at all, as if to emphasize that you actually have no control over Jack's actions.

  • @Antlion666 I KNOW right? i love how it adds to the psycological approach and further explains that you as a character are powerless

  • @moolate127

To date it is the most surprising and best 'twist' I have seen in a game, especially considering its a FPS. Even better is playing the game through a second time and realizing when Atlas says 'Would you kindly' and when he doesn't.

Like he doesn't say 'Would you kindly kill the little sister,' pretty much the only constant decision the player can make.

  • @Antlion666 EXACTLY! Man i love bioshock big daddies rule!

  • @Antlion666 I don't know, have you ever played Knights of the Old Republic? THERE is a twist you won't soon be forgetting.

Although you are right, this is definitely up in the top three twists in a game EVER

  • @kanderous

The KOTOR twist certainly is gaming history, but unfortunately, as often happens with twists, you read about them when simply looking into buying the game.

Suffice to say, it lessened the experience for me.

  • @Antlion666 Oh noooo!! that sucks, I'm sorry man. I was lucky I guess.

  • SPOLER: ATLAS IS FONTAINE.

  • When i saw it first time i whas like WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA bioshock is just epic WHOULD YOU KINDLY agree!?

  • fuck citizen kane, fuck the usual suspects, fuck memento, fuck fight club - this is the greatest of all plot twists. hands down. nothing compares.

just kidding those movies are all great haha but damn this blew my mind in so many different ways

  • Big daddy: I would kindly catch a grenade for you

  • And why did Ryan as Jack to kill him?

  • @spawn1390 he didn't want to die he just wanted to see if jack really was a slave or a man

  • @spawn1390 Ryan tested to see if Jack would obey like a slave, or spare him and grow a free will like a man.

  • @INEEDZALL and it works ....sorta. ryan gets killed, but later in the game, jack stops obeying the would you kindly

  • You're right; a man chooses. And I choose to kill you for all the things you did, and let happen. And would have let happen.

  • Wouldn't it be great if, just to piss the game off, when atlas said to put the genetic key into the machine, you didn't and decided to wait there forever! Fantastic game btw!

  • When i discover the would you kindly stuff i thought "....." and then "....." and finally "....HOLYSHIT"

  • @huaun LOL me too. I didn't get at first. And I'm like ZOMGWTFBBQ?!

  • You have to hand it to Ryan, although he is killed, he retains his principles and dies on his own terms. He dies free and you remain a slave, so in a way, he still wins.

  • @MandrakePFJ Damn, I bet he's wearing a troll face in the afterlife.

  • would you kindly subscribe to my channel and unsubscribe other channels besides mine XD

  • Would you kindly press the like button on this 'ere video?

  • 2K, would you kindly get hurry with Bioshock Infinite, please?

  • @bigcritic69 Cant....resist.

  • @bigcritic69 I'm a man, not a Slave

  • @bigcritic69 im not jack

  • While I believe it's a brilliant game, I think the "would you kindly" plot twist is a bit over-rated. Besides a difference in presentation, the plot twist is virtually identical to that of System Shock 2, with Shodan posing as Janice Polito.

The reason the player got to this point was due to the game's linearity. Essentially the game is saying "The main antagonist mind-controlled you!" Erm, not really, "obeying" him was the only way of progressing the story so I didn't really have a choice!

  • @MrNinjenius which is why it doesn't make a difference whether you were being controlled or not

in a sense, the player IS a slave...

  • @MrNinjenius That's the point, when Fontaine mentions that he was controlling you, he's not referring to the character, he's referring to YOU, the player. It's a commentary on video game logic, the only way you can progress is by obeying Fontaine, just as Jack must obey him. How many times in a game has someone simply told you to do something (even in games where choice is present, such as quests in RPGs) and you've done it without a second thought?

  • @MrNinjenius wow you are gay

  • Comment removed

  • I loved the scene, and was shocked. But, taking a step back, how likely is this? Sure, it's a great twist. But also quite absurd.

  • @WHATISUTUBE

How likely is it that a bunch of scientists went to live in the ocean and randomly became murderous psychopaths? Come on bro.

  • @BlackChipmunkParade How likely is it that someone would read the entire comments page on a video? Can't even find what you're quoting

  • games soooooooo cool but i really wish you had choices

  • AH! EAR RAPE AT 1:45 !!!! I had to apologize to my roommates.

Would you kindly adjust your gain or other volume levels when you make videos in the future.

  • Would you kindly thumb this comment up?

  • would you Kindly make the voices louder.

  • Even if I wasnt under mind control, I still wouldve killed him.

  • @zexionswisdom That is just what he meant.. That decision would have been your "own" as you think. In the end, it would be same.. Obeying. Not chosing. Being slave. You cant deny.. Andrew got great point in his words

  • i remember playing this for the first time and just being in absolute shock.

A amazing scene and truly fitting to the first bioshock. So subtly placed within the whole game that you wouldnt notice untill it was put on a plate.

    Pure Genious.

  • Gotta love monologging.

  • biggest shock ever, an awesome twist

  • would you kindly fall over the balcony like some faded prick

  • Greatest video game moment ever. Possibly one of the best moments ever in life

  • Ryan basically proved that Jack was but a slave by demanding him to kill him and he just obeyed.

  • it was epic

  • why did andrew ryan makes us kill him?? pls answer

  • @snatch1618

Basically, he wanted to die on his own terms; he wanted to be in control of everything up to and including his death.

  • @ZeldaFreak1987 thanks really

  • 3 people need to get stomped on by a big daddy.

  • Would you kindly take ryans golfclub out of his head?

  • I shit my pants when I saw this scene for the first time.

Glad to see that there are still games with incredible plot twists and not just the same old generic FPS.

  • Why ryan force the player to kill him

  • @godofwarrocksman dunno XD i wondered this

  • @Incorected I always thought that Ryan knew he was going to die, because no matter what, Atlas would keep telling his slave (you), to kill him. So, Ryan demanded it because he wanted to die on his own terms, not by Atlas' command.

  • @Coppo68 mindraped. XD fair dos, sureley ryan coulda used you as a slave too?

  • @Incorected I suppose he could, but as soon as you enter this level and Ryan sees you through the cameras for the first time, he discovers that Jack (you, the player) is is son. Perhaps he didn't have the heart to turn his own son into a slave, or he was caught off guard by discovering that his own son is being controlled to kill him.

  • @Coppo68 i thought you were (atlas's) son i know it isnt atlas but i fort the guys name XD

  • Dear three haters, would you kindly jump off a cliff.

  • Would you kindly...

    Such a sinister moment.

  • i should play this game agein

  • WOULD YOU KINDLY SUBSCRIBE

  • WOULD YOU FINDLY SUBSCRIBE

  • NOOO my highest thumbed up comment is gone..I had like 300 thumbs up :(

  • 0:59 I was actually a big enough nerd to enter in the coordinates into google maps. Apparently Rapture is in the ocean, between Iceland and Greenland

  • @RyanEdge I salute your geekery! ;-)

  • @RyanEdge Hey, I did it to.

  • Comment removed

  • @IanKabraRox Totally agree :)

  • I did Andrew Ryans speech as my monologue audition for my school play....I got lead role, no friggen joke!

  • WHAT!? Snape kills Dumbledore?

  • would you kindly kill that son of a bitch??

  • i want to try to make my mom play this so she can see games can be about more then mindless killing, but im afraid she'll run into a wall for 5 hours.

  • Would you kindly break this puppy's neck.

    Best fucked up line.

  • I love how Andrew Ryan checks the slope on a flat putting surface.

  • This was a brilliant twist. However, is isn't unprecedented. There are games with MUCH deeper storylines, underlying conspiracies and a LOT more explanation to the story. Sure, Atlas turned out to be Fontaine, but it's not as if we haven't been betrayed by a character in games before. GTA San Andreas, where the two guys in your gang turned out to be in a rival gang. Metal Gear Solid, where Master McDonnell Miller turned out to be Liquid Snake... Again, great story, just not the best I've played.

  • The story and graphics in both bioshock, and bioshock 2, are fucking epic.

  • up until this point i thought fontaine(atlas) was just being polite. we were blind until this scene

  • damn this still sends a shiver down my spine...

  • come to think of it this would make a great movie

  • I got a question, So was Ryan a good guy and Atlas was a bad guy?

  • Comment removed

  • @xCrazyxJx38x pretty much.

  • @xCrazyxJx38x dude.... stfu...... play the game. pay attention.

  • @xCrazyxJx38x Neither of them were good or bad, they were human. That's the whole point of the game.

  • would you kindly make this video lighter

  • can u make it a lil ligo see all of the areah?

  • Well after this scene, I realized why he had the chains tattooed on his wrists.

  • when this happened I was like:

    "WHAT THE FUCK"

  • In the end, what separates a man, from a slave?

  • @xZippy38 a man chooses, a slaves obey

  • Would you kindly is gonna be my new phrase.

  • In some point, it started sounds wierd when he always says "would you kindly", but i've never thought this is gonna happen.

  • @MegaIsraelites Yup, if you play again, you can note this annoying phrase again and again. And you REALLY want to kill Fountane. His bloody Athlas... I didn't believe him anyway.

  • Andrew Ryan's voice is awesome.

  • lol my name is Kain too!

  • I just got this game, it's amazing so far, the storyline, the characters, the action, everything is great. I love that scene with Dr. Steinman and he says "he is ugly UGLY UGLY UGLY!!!!!!!" ROFL

  • unquestionably the most freak you the hell out moment in gaming history

  • I don't like being thumbed:(

  • I noticed he said that after every sentence... But I thought it was just part of his accent or something xD

  • @deenotheman2 I know! If he used any other accent than I definatlly wouldve caught on

  • I just beat the game and absolutely LOVE it! But could someone please explain to me why ryan wanted jack to kill him?

  • @gungeekgary Because he chose to die, and as he said: "A man chooses, the slave obbeys"
