@smukase Peter Pan was first created for adults as a character in a novel called "The Little White Bird". Afterwards he became a play and a novel. If any relation to other media, Hook is PG rated. I wouldn't say that he is entirely for kids, it has killing all over the book. Peter even gets into depression states.

@reader1004 Peter probably does cut off Hook's hand, at the end of the movie in the climatic battle (probably also when Capt. Bonny dies). So it's possible that happens, but you get to see Hook with his hand for most of the movie so they show that.

Hook blocks the pistol with his hand to save Peter and thus loses it. That explains why he has a hook for a hand.
