I have done some overclocking with this chip, in a room I got 4,2GHz stable with HT on and about 4,35GHz stable with HT off. When OC-ing with -18C room temp I got 4,4GHz stable with HT on and nearly 4,6GHz stable with HT off. With better cooling it's possible to go higher.

Wow, for being so expensive, it comes with a terrible heatsink. Intel is making TONS of profit from this processor. AMD's Phenom II X4 955 competes against the Core 2 Quad Q9550, costs the same, comes with a MUCH better heatsink with copper heatpipes and more aluminum fins, and is also faster. *sigh*

Or they could just do like AMD and provide a good heatsink stock. You can take a Phenom 900 series stock heatsink and over-clock the processor to 3.4GHz and maintain cool temperatures. It's not very hard to do, is it? Either you provide something good or nothing at all. So yes, Intel should not provide a heat sink so that it lowers the price somewhat, since the stock one can barely keep it at safe temps.

AMD stock heatsinks aren't so good... my old Phenom 9850 @ 3GHz reaches to 70C with stock heatsink and Arctic Silver 5 paste which is too high for Phenom 9850. If you want to do some serious overclocking you have to buy an aftermarket heatsink anyways...

A dipswitch was not soldered properly. first the store said it was customer damage but i managed to get it RMA-ed. Then i figured out another problem that my motherboard didnt support quad gpu. Was supposed to be video card ugprade but in the end I bought so much extra its just a new system lol
