We've been there when he first lost his toad in the Sorcerer stone to when he stuck it to the man in the Deathly Hallows. Neville Longbottom grew from the forgetful kid to a strong man. That's why he will never be forgotten. Neville is the hero to the people who feel they'll never belong.

I think in some ways that Neville's childhood was much more traumatic than Harry's. Neville knew who he was, and who his parents were. He knew he's parent had no idea who he even was. He had to deal with his horrid grandmother, who bullied him mentally. His entire family thought he didn't have any magic, until they dropped him out of a WINDOW. Everyone thought he was a tradegy to the Longbottom name.

Well...of course until he killed Nagini.

Neville always has been & always will be my favorite character.I mean,all his years at Hogwarts he was tormented & the loser.I felt bad for him,so he was my favorite.Then we found out about his parents.Oh.My.God.We found out he had such a horrible past,& a lot live up to that no one ever thought he would.& Matthew Lewis portrayed him perfectly in the films.His story is so beautiful,& this song portrays it perfectly.Him slowly gaining confidence through the books,then finally saying he can do it.

I'm going to name all my kids after Harry Potter characters (you know, kind of like how some people name their kids after Biblical people) and I WILL name my son Neville. When my kids read the books (AND THEY WILL) my son is going to be like "Man, my mom gave me such a stupid name; Neville is a loser" and I'm going to be like "Trust me, Neville will be the best of them all."

Neville went from hopeless chubby kid to hero in the books. I think the movies downsize this so much it's not fair. Poor Neville is as important to the story as Harry is, because of the fate that either of them could have been sentanced to.

@XKam3oX Thats true, that some of his parts were played down, but he also had some parts in the movies that he didn't in the books, like the gillyweed in GOF. Although some of his roles from the books were taken out, he seemed to get a lot of Dobby's roles. I'm not defending them, because they definitely should have had more of him in the movies, but he wasn't completely taken out either.

@XKam3oX Totally agree with you, just one correction though. When Hermione casted Petrificus Totalus (the scene you're talking about) on Neville, that was just like how it was in the books. That scene was from when they were going to get past fluffy, not when they met him. (Neville was just completely taken out of meeting fluffy.) The scene where she casts the spell on him wasn't an instead, it was the different scene (which I'm glad they kept true to, including his 10 point from Dumbledore) <3
