I have an Epic 4G flashed to Cricket. It works great everywhere except my office. Verizon has the best service where I live, but their unlimited minute + smartphone data plan is over $100 a month.
I decided to get a Verizon prepaid phone just to make business calls in the office and wound up with a Revere. Works great for what I need, and best of all, I got it for $15 and it came with a $10 airtime credit. Can't beat a phone for $5.
If you can find a refurbished Samsung Alias 2 or Insight, that was the best phone I've ever had. No clue why they stopped making it. Had to upgrade to a smartphone for some school stuff I'm doing, and I love my smart phone. However, the Alias 2 is still a killer phone and I'm keeping mine as a back up.
nokia 5310. that was my phone that i had before i had a smartphone. i could browse the web and view full html webpages. i could check my facebook. i had access to tons of 3rd party java apps from the ovi store. it was like a sub-smartphone or a high end dumb phone. it was great
Samsung smiley is a great phone it has amazing speakers/mic quality, personally i think better than iphone even, a crappy camera but if your a teenager like me and u just use it for taking a picture of something funny and texting it to facebook your fine. Good easy qwerty keyboard if you hate touchscreen typing, which I know I do and it's a very easy to use slidephone. Doesnt break easy either. Its only a tmobile phone I beleive.

In other news: i own a nokia with no INternet, USB conection, BT or Irda :D I got fed up with so much technologie but i still deal with a lot of new phones at work, and Samsung wasn't even close to one of my most problematic smartphones.
