  • would be awesome if they made an mmorpg of the last great time war, players can pick either Daleks, Timelords, or one of the other races that were involved.

  • I hadn't realised there were actually this many references to thing that happened during the timewar. Wow. This was epic in all meanings of the word.

  • Thinking of doing similar video but with own ideas. Im presumbing you made the actual video on youtube but can you tell me how to get all sorts of different video+audio clips onto your computer. Also, would you mind if i were to get any clips from this. Thanks

  • Wow!

  • could involve all doctors, again its a time war so fought throughout the whole of time. Thumbs up if you agree

  • time war movie shouldnt be about 8 but young 1st doctor who escapes academy to Earth after Dalek conquest of Gallifrey.this would seemingly contradict classic who but let me explain. time war is fought acros time, history HAS to be changed otherwise wouldnt be time war! Daleks change history conquer time with gallifrey tech availible after Gallifrey extinction. 1 reverses everything but this is just beginning and whole Gallifrey history changed, always been fighting. Goes on forever till 8 dies.

  • Shame Paul McGann and Chris Eccleston have both said they don't want to come back, they were both such eccelent Doctors and a Time War mini-series would be absolutely excellent! (Perhaps including an epilogue episode with Nine of the Titanic right before he meets Rose?)

  • screw all 11th Doctors to interact with each other for the 50th anniversary special, I say do a flashback to the time war and show Paul McGann once again as the doctor then half way through gets unfortunately killed and regenerates into Christopher Eccleston and he's the one that has to end it all

  • @Samuel24842 That would be... "FANTASTIC!"

  • WOW! Amazing work. That would be something to see.

  • Are u going to update this with segments from the End of Time?

  • amazing it seemed so real it quite literally took my breath away

  • That was amazing I really think like every one else they should make the Time War. The fans need to know it bugs me so much I was just saying the other day that I know almost everything there is to know on Doctor Who but the Time War is the one thing I want. I'm just worried if they make it into a movie or TV series. Will it be a let down

  • I've heard people say that the Time War is so epic that it could never be shown on screen. But you've come PRETTY DAMN CLOSE. Absolutely beautiful.

  • David Yates is gone make a Doctor who movie, this is confirmed. He should definitly do a Time War trilogy..imagine the first title Doctor Who:The Upcoming Storm fuetering Paul Mcgann as the Doctor and Benedict Cumberbatch as the Master..if he let RTD write the dialogue combined with Moffat and Gaiman creating the story it could be the most epic thing in the universe. Some day mighty villians will fear the epic ness of the movie and raise a timelord assasin to kill it or lock it up in a pandorica

  • They should make a time war mini series like star wars and the clo

  • BabelColor for The 12th Doctor xD

  • not so peaceful now thumps up

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ok not that the recent Matt Smith years were bad, they're awesome, but I still they think they should hire Babelcolour to write for them. Thumbs up if you agree!

  • EPIC!

  • APSLOTLY MIND BLOWING!DALEKS+TIMELORDS=...THE TIME WAR!

  • MOST INTENSE !!!! LOVE IT WHEN YOU GOT EIGHTH DOCTOR INVOLVED !!!

  • I like how the intro by tom for the deadly assassin can also reafer to the time war :)

  • this should actually BE a mini-series....in the same vein as Battlestar Galactica. Paul McGann could still pull it off, and it would be an amazing outlet for him to be recognized as the Doctor.

  • @exitwest you have a good point !!!! This definitely could be the best thing since the DS9 & BB5 era shows !!! But is there info if the Eighth and Ninth fought in the war ?

  • I keep watching this after a year, and it still amazes me. It runs shivers down my spine.

  • Holy crap! That was amazing! *stands and applauds*

  • 1:54

  • This is really excellent, well done!! :)

  • FANTASTIC! This is the pure magic of film editing to perfection.

  • who is the nightmare child?

  • @YahiroYamaha

More what is, I think it's like a black hole.

  • Not bad. Not bad at all.

  • Music when the Master is speaking?

  • @xPokemonPlayerx The same music that has been playing the whole time. A Doctor Who Theme remix by Blacker, it seems.

  • that was brilliant!

  • Very good, when are they gonna show it really?

  • Watched this one over and over for a few days. I'm amazed you created this!

  • 29 people are Daleks

  • as the 9th doctor would say FANTASTIC ...........

  • Comment removed

  • Very cool. Would be cooler still if you updated it with stuff from "The End of Time."

  • Where'd you get the clip of the chancellory guard firing at the dalek?

  • @MrFishman55 The clips of guards firing are from the CGI versions of The Invasion of Time and Arc of Infinity.

  • Last moments of the Time War would be the Doctor, lying on a field littered with the corpses of Timelords and Daleks, his face covered in blood from his fatal injury. He begins to crawl to the TARDIS, where he begins it's self destruct protocol. He sits in his chair, grinning, reminiscing all the adventures he'd had. The TARDIS implodes, engulfing all the remaining life around Gallifrey. He then awakens, on the floor of his TARDIS, unscathed. 'I am far more than just another Timelord'.

  • Maybe you could (if your ever updating this one) include the small clues we´re given in the end of time part 2 where the doctor tells us something about the last days of the time war.

  • @Erikjust I've got a pet theory about one of those. In the first year there's some huge-ass battle where the Daleks are commanded by Davros himself. Massive fleets on both sides, and everyone's in a fighting rage. Some psychic pollen blows in. Since it finds millions or billions of beings consumed with hatred for one another, instead of one basically good man who has his moments, it forms not some sniveling little Dream Lord but the Nightmare Child.

  • Oh god that was the greatest thing I've ever seen

  • brilliant

  • Thumbs up for Paul McGann

  • @BowtieFezStetson *thumbs up*

  • So epic. That war is just as the Doctor said. Its hell!

  • Brilliant, like all your videos. Clearly a penchant for being able to put details together with insurmountable reserves of patience to put these videos together (no doubt requiring both time and money for the necessary software and hardware).

  • that was ace id use it for the real programme! there were just the windows smashing bit was rubbish but the rest was ace

  • dude below and penniefils i think i put that same idea on his the 10 doctors video

  • I wish that Doctor Who would make a "movie" if you will, about the time war. Nice Tribute, I like it.

  • I love this, i just hope you update this at some point with the Time Lords from End of Time. :)

  • yeah there epic

  • I LOVE your videos!

  • i blew up! this was amazing! Daleks! TimeLords!Epic Music in the backround! This is perfect!

  • amazing

  • This was AWESOME. My mind = blown to bits.

  • OMG! That was FANTASTIC - INCREDIBLE - REMARKABLE! I'd see that at a theater several times and then buy the DVD.

    BabelColour, you are a genius.

  • where is the tom baker voice at 0:45 -0:52

  • @TheOneandOnlyWhovian The E-Space Trilogy, second episode: "State of Decay".

  • What's the music called?

  • @Charmalite It's called High Noon by someone named Blacker. You can find the mp3 at a site called Whomix. It's a site with various fan versions of the Doctor Who theme.

  • I like to think the new, gold Daleks were built by Davros to help him win the Civil War. They are far superior to the old Daleks in weaponry and shields.

  • GOD i would love for them to make a movie about the time war!

  • Well that was amazing'

  • good trailer hope they actually use it for a new episode

  • Perhaps an update to include what we learned in DT's last episode with the soundbite from 11: "Fear me, I killed all of them." and I agree...a 50th anniv movie of the Time War would be excellent...perhaps as part of his therapy to recover his former self sotospeak...facing the worst wound to his soul...having been the destroyer of his own world.

  • Thumbs up for zombie doctor thumbnail!!!

  • This... Actually explains a lot.

  • VERY good 100% awsome

  • See I would'nt mind even seeing a throwback to the time war. Maybe an episode opening with a short cinematic of a battle. Maybe the fall of Aracadia, or Davros's ship crashing into the nightmare child's maw. It would be for maybe two three minutes, but be very intense, then it turns out it was just a flash back of the doctor's.

  • This is the most brilliant fan video on the Time War I have seen. Extremely clever editing from all over DW and beyond (I particularly liked the shots of Derek Jacobi from 'Cadfael' to fill in for him as The Master). Excellent all around :~D

  • Anyway, this video's great, I remember seeing a different, earlier (I believe) version of it, back in 2005 or something. It has become epic and chilling, and as far as I'm concerned, this fits perfectly with what has been mentioned in the series. Except, possibly, for the 8-9 regeneration, because, correct me if I'm wrong, but does a Dalek's ray jellify the insides of whoever it hits? I think I remember hearing that somewhere....

  • Wow.....really awesome stuff. I've made a Time War vid as well but isn't as good as this....

  • Awesome

  • The time war has to be the 50th anniversary story.

  • @penninefilms Not exactly, but it would be cool! However, Steven Moffat has the recognition that the time war is something that should not be touched. If you see the time war, you eradicate a lot of mystery behind it! Such as, how to 8th Dr Regenerated, or the nightmare child, it would be cruel to Russell who created the thing who worked so hard to make sure it kept secret enough!

  • @theballaam96 Yes I see what you mean but is still would be nice to see the 8th doctor in the 50th anniversary year.

  • @penninefilms only if ten is there

  • @GabrielsSwordVideos Can I ask what you mean?

  • @penninefilms As in if they got Tennant or doctor number 10 in it they can make up some time-slip crap like they did for Davros

  • @GabrielsSwordVideos Are ok I see what you mean it would make a good film if they did it right.

  • @penninefilms yes

  • @GabrielsSwordVideos Thanks for the reply.

  • @penninefilms I want the 50th anniversary to be 'The Four Doctors' with Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, and Matt Smith.

  • @SuperSamio64 That would be nice but Christopher Eccleston has already sed in a BBC interview he will not return to doctor who if that's so then why did he whet to play the doctor in the first place he must know its will stay with in for the rest of his life.

  • @penninefilms I'm sure he could be persuaded to return for a single episode, or maybe a 1-hour special. Do you know where you saw/found the interview, because I'd like to see it for myself.

  • @SuperSamio64 Type it in to the internet and it will come up or look up doctor who 50th anniversary.

  • @SuperSamio64 Or even more doctors if canon allows :D which I assume it can if you count that comic relief special

  • @SuperSamio64 I'm not so sure about Paul, but a new Three (or four, depending on how long Matt Smith lasts) Doctors with the latest batch would be incredible beyond words.

  • Absolutely incredible

  • i think the 2013 special will be the timewar special :D

  • What did I just see?

  • @hillbillymunk I would like it if they went for a style like the 2009 Star Trek movie or something, and if they focused on the Doctor's relationship with the Timelords instead of doing a Journeys End and think that 1 million Daleks are cool. The New Series is most cool when the Doctor is angry IMO.

  • Absoulutly aamazing. All your videos are just simply amazing! This and your triibute to Lis Sladen are just absolutly amazing!

  • If The BBC doesn't hire you pretty soon a bunch of us will get together and bankroll you.

  • If they ever do a Time War movie, it's got to be dark and gritty. You know what, make it an 18 rated film! Have it really, really dark - because with all the Doctor's painful reminiscing in the New Series, it's gotta be massive.

  • Oh that was excellent. Very well done. I wish they would do a sweeping onscreen expose of the Time War. Maybe for the fiftieth anniversary. You ask me, the writers should start looking right here for inspiration.

  • you know the line about the creatures that were impossible to kill, was that audio from the E-space story arc?

  • BEST FAN MADE VIDEO EVER

  • A very careful, well-put together spectacle.

  • i like how u are the only one who used the doctor to destroy gallifrey. like its supposed to be. 10/10

  • what music is this

  • at last! some decent footage of the 8th doctors regeneration!!

  • Here's how I imagened the end to the Time War: The Eye of Hrmony. It's essentially a star right? so I've always thoutght that the Doctor led the Daleks to Gallifrey and then set it off, and the exsplosion of Gallifrey killed all the daleks.

  • @OttselSpy24 Actually, I had envisioned The Doctor using theDeMat gun and erasing them from time.

  • With out a doub, this is the best thing on youtube.

  • Great work. Sometimes the narrative voice gets a bit lost under music/FX.

Really enjoyed watching it, thanks for putting it together.

  • That was really excellent! Well done!

  • Dude, that is one of the best renditions of the Doctor Who theme I've ever heard. Very epic. Where is it from?

  • 0:36 lol bloomineck thts funny

  • I love this video. It shows the raw POWER of the time war. And,paulbottomley42, It was the choice between letting the resurrected rassilon destroy the WHOLE UNIVERSE, which the timelords were supposed to COMPLETELY oppose, or just destroy two races rather than every single race that has ever existed.

  • @paulbottomly42 In event of an outright war between the Time Lords and the Daleks, I'd be tempted to say yes. It almost killed him and he regretted it for the rest of his 9th life, but imagine the Eleventh Doctor's consideration of euthanising the Space Whale but on a bigger scale...

  • What are those ships at 3:06 ?

  • What could be the most awesome story in Doctor Who history, and RTD thought it should be covered as backstory. -_-

    Awesome video. Seriously, its incredible.

Also, what happened to the Doctor? as Tom he adamantly refused to commit genocide, even to stop the Daleks and undo all the evil they've done and are yet to do - yet later he does it twice and seems almost proud. Yeah he's not happy with the Daleks for fairly obvious reasons, but would he really betray his principles that much?

  • @paulbottomley42 He regenerates into a persona that is GREATLY affected by the circumstances of his previous one's death. If we assume that McGann regenerated into Eccleston BEFORE committing genocide, then it's entirely plausible that he would be willing to go to such lengths beyond his principles. Everything in his circumstances was saying "THIS MUST BE STOPPED" and his decisions have since killed him emotionally. Look at the Human!Doctor-basically 10 but with so much more destructive intent.

  • @MarianFrae Always got the hint he was affected mostly on what the 8th had done and with that..his 9th ran around trying to forget just what he had done until a single Dalek was shown alive. All that trama from the war and his own death made him want to kill it. It was apart of his past he wanted not to relieve. That guilt. Course I can go on with Rose changing that, but everything still sort of points that the 8th was a main part. The 9th seemed to be fresh when he met Rose. Look at the ears!

  • @RenttRedwood That's true... he *did* seem pretty fresh. He'd certainly not looked in a mirror... but he obviously picked out clothes and put them on without looking in a mirror. Who's to say he didn't have the TARDIS get rid of any reflective surface because, once out of the heat of war, he couldn't stand who he'd become and what he'd done. *shrugs* I'll have to listen to the McGann audio in its fullest scope.

  • @MarianFrae He did a few things here and there after he regenerated. That one man did show pictures of him through time, which Rose got curious. But the 10th did state that 9th was "born from war", so who knows. They wont probably tell us for a long while what happened in the Time War. Lets you create your own story that way.

  • where did you get 4:24 to 4:28?

  • can we expect a version 2 seeing as some of the time war was in the end of time?

  • Excellent, the greatest story never told unfortunatly..

  • @DarianJordel some of it was told...

  • Amazing video! Where'd you get 4:16?

  • Brilliant! The time war would make an epic film although it would take violence on Doctor Who to a whole new level. Plus war is a really dry plot, you have sides with irreconcilable differences. So it would just be all fighting tactics. Which is probably why it won't be made. :-/

  • @elvenbread191 True, the war itself would be a little fry, but I think watching the doctor being forced to choose between killing off two civilizations and stopping the war.

  • best time war vid and 8th doctor regeneration

  • This is incredible! Where did you take the eight's audio from?

  • BBC should make a movie on the time war. Just so new DW fans (I.e. Me) can have a little more understanding of the time lords

  • This is really grea1. how the hell do you make it so good!?!

  • were did you get the music please tell me

  • doesn't matter how many times I watch this, it still raises the hackles- genius!

  • @legohoruswho THATS WHAT I MEANT XP lol - this was made in 2008, end of time was 2009 not 2011 ! hence why he is quite lucky for getting it quite accurate!

  • Amazing - all of your videos are amazing :) KEEP IT UP!!!!

  • ok, that- was- AWSOME!

  • What I find funny about this video is that you created an image where the Gallifrey Globe was broken - and it was broken in The End Of Time!! :P

  • @RegenerationStorm this was made before 2011 you N00B

  • "You are the President of the Time Lords?"

    "Yes,"

    "Exterminate!"

Is that from the Apocalypse Element?

  • GOOSEBUMPS!

  • Fantastic!

  • Thank you for making these spectacular videos. I'm an American fan who has only become familiar with the series over the last two years, and your work was immensely helpful getting me hooked. This is everything a Time War movie should be.

  • 24 people lost the time war.

  • Thumbs down/spam the pathetic excuse for a human being below me.

  • @PS3Worshipper I am not entitled to a belief?

  • @CrimsonHawkArts

I suspect that was spam, however to answer your questions:

Why get rid of the Time Lords?

Why not. It added to the plot and worked well, even though a fair amount of the audience had no idea Time Lords existed in the first place.

Why are the Daleks in every series?

    They are good memorable villains.

    New and memorable villains:

Weeping Angles (Putting aside 11's adventures with them), Gas mask Zombies, Slitheen.

I can't recall any Homosexual characters in Dr Who...

  • @brigadieroflandstar Well there's Jack who was ubersexual (for want of a better term) and the occasional other character. His claim is dumb anyway because the first homosexual companion was actually in a 90s novel and the first black companion was in a 4th doctor comic strip. Not to mention the fact that in the first 4 years of the show the daleks had 6 stories and between 1972 and 1975 the daleks had a story every year. The spammer was just being ignorant and over nostalgic.

  • @eateroftheflame I figured he was a spammer, but though, well, why not. And thanks for pointing out those facts as they're pretty much impossible to argue with.

  • @brigadieroflandstar It wasn't a spam. Sorry if I came over a bit too harsh.

  • @eateroftheflame Spammer? What! In response, it's not the amount of, say, the usage of Daleks in NuWho. It's the crap that they do with them. Not to mention 4/5 series finale had them in. God, Classic TV series Doctor Who ended with a superb season. Full of interesting plots, they were good. Look at Remembererence of the Daleks, that's how you write for Daleks!

  • @CrimsonHawkArts Well that's a fair opinion (though I think that "Dalek" is up to similar standards as "Remembrance of the Daleks") but I hated the rude way you described it at first "for kids/retards for example".

  • @eateroftheflame We have different tastes. That's good. Sorry for being rude. Plus, as a side note, I'm 13.

  • @brigadieroflandstar I dislike the shift of focus from serious matters of life to an over the top and over emotional blur.

  • @brigadieroflandstar WHAT ABOUT JACK????

JACK HARKNESS WAS QUEER AS A 3$ bill!

  • Captain Jack?

  • "I can't recall any Homosexual characters in Dr Who.."

     - Captain Jack?

  • @brigadieroflandstar "I can't recall any Homosexual characters in Dr Who..."

Ricky Smith and his friend? The lesbian grandmas in Gridlock? Jack Harkness? More recently, Canton Everett Delaware III and his black friend? Fat Man and Thin Man? Just to name a few. Granted, It's mostly NuWho, but there was something decidedly homosexual about the relationship between Ace and that catgirl in Survival and Fitz Kreiner and Dr#8 in the Virgin New Adventures.

  • @KingLofiOne it was supposed to be a homosexual between ace and the catgirl the writer said so himself

  • @bigkon420 I know - and Doc Eight had an implied affair with Fitz Kreiner in trhe Books.

  • @KingLofiOne Ricky Smith and his friend don't count if their relationship was never explicitly stated in the show. Example: The Silurian and cannibal maid count as there was an explicit reference to cunnilingus between them. Also, Fat Man and Thin Man are really Rimmer and Lister from Red Dwarf. Also if you're just going to start referring to books, cite your sources.
