Actually, neither....Best Buy. It was closer than the Apple store. I went in for something else...and I came home with the macbook :)

ohhh soo you didnt even plan to buy your macbook hahaha. thats funny. i have been planning and researching for a long time ahaha. like last summer i could of got one. well not the new one but the old. one. but i think it was a good thing i waited! for the best one yet i think. i am wondering what they will come out next. prolly the "modbook" or the "macbook wheel". at macworld they had a few things coming into market in the next few months. its pretty impressive!

I know, I always used Windows till a yr ago when I first got a mac for videos. My macs NEVER crash or get viruses. I'm hooked on the macs now. They're so simple to use too!! :)

yess. like i have been using pc all of my life. until like a few months ago where i bought a older mac, but when i sold it cuase its too old for me to do anything on it. hahah. yea like mac has no virues, you dont have to spend extra money on virus protection. and mac os x is soo easy to use. and plus it looks really sweet tooo. i can deff say i am hooked on macs and when i get mine i will deff be more hooked! hahaha. MACS RULE!!

I do LOVE the macbook (am using right now). It runs GREAT, so much power for a little machine. I can do SO much at once w/out any glitches. Video work is great. Everything runs fast. I have NO complaints what so ever :) I can't think of a single problem I've had with it. None. Worth every penny and then some!!

I got nothing customized...2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB of memory, and some 160 GB of space. I work on my shows directly on the mac instead of on an external drive. The only thing I'm not good at is the track pad...I use a mouse :)

You'll love the new iMovie 09 it comes with - if you're into making videos. I still use the old 06 iMovie a lot. But the NEW iMovie exports AMAZINGLY to YouTube!! :)

yea, haha surprsingly thats like the thing i am looking towards the most. to make a tone of vids and post them on youtube. movie making is soo much funn!! and i am also very good at it. through all of my friends i know the much about apple and computers. i just love them soo much, and getting a macbook will deff make my like 10x better hahaha. but seriously still havent decided which i am going to get. i just cant wait till summer soo i can get it! i hope times flies from here on in!!

I still use the old 06 iMovie for most of my videos...the new 09 iMovie for filters, transitions, text & themes. I use Final Cut Express for some editing....but definitely new iMovie for YouTube export.

yea. by the way since you only got the 160GB HD, how much space do you have left? since you make all of those videos. how long have you had your macbook. does it get dirty? or stay fairly clean. and do u think a 13.3" screen is big enough.

If I don't have any video files, I have at least 140 GB free. I transfer finished files to external drives when I'm done. The 13" screen seemed a bit small at first compared to my reg monitor screen, but I got used to it quite quickly. The image is very sharp & clear. But it helps to have good eyesight for smaller screen. I had my mac since October 08.

oh okkk.. yea in the future when my macbook gets full i will eventually get a external, or just delete the old stuff hahaha. yea but i think its a nice size. well i might configure getting the 15" screen. but idn if i want to spend the extra money. but i bet i will get used to the 13.3" yea. the screen is very sharp and clear. one of my classmates have one and its awesome. hmmm.. i am hopefuly going to get mine in july. as early as possible. what does it all come with. its comes with iLife right

I would store the videos in an external anyway, at least for back-up. I guess you can always hook the macbook to an external monitor at some point? I haven't tried that or thought of doing it. Yours will come with the new iLife. I had to buy the new one since mine came with the older version. iLife 09 is GREAT!!! Yep, July can't come soon enough :)

First of all, I love how excited you are! You really seem to appreciate that computer, so even if I'm pretty jealous, I'm happy for you!

Secondly, I love that you trust apple enough to buy a 2000+ dollar laptop without ever even seeing it in person! You get bonus mac-points for being that cool!

1st, thanks! 2nd, the laptop is only $1,299. For $2,000 I would've gotten the Pro, but it's also too heavy to travel with. 3rd, someone said it was stupid to buy something w/out seeing what it looks like first -- but with a Mac (or any other comp) is more important to know what it DOES before what it LOOKS like!! I knew what this baby's capable of, and THAT'S why I got it! I'll keep you posted when I start using it. I just finished charging it last night... Ciao for now!!
