Why did they build this part of the DLR as without future extensions It doesn't really go anywhere. As you have to change at so many stations to get to Places on the south of the river such as Lewisham , or Deptford Bridge, I live in Woolwich and i havent used the DLR once and i travel around all the time
Im annoyed by the fact that the Docklands Light Railway extension to Dagenham Dock has been cancelled. I was looking forward to that. I reckon they extended the DLR to London City Airport so they dont have to use the buses anymore, dont really know why they extended it to woolwich arsenal though!
@justinfox955 So that there would be a connection to suburban trains, perhaps. Not at all a bad idea in my opinion. I'm Swedish and have only visited London twice but I found this extension very useful when going from Dartford to Barking; first i took suburban train to Woolwich Arsenal, then DLR to West Ham and finally suburban train to Barking.
@skawashers I think the main point of DLR is to connect towns which dont have underground stations to underground stations. The nearest underground station to woolwich is north greenwich and only the jubilee runs on it. However, you can get DLR to bank and connect to various tube lines.
To be honest, I'd much rather travel on the tube than go on those dreaded bendy buses, I may start using the tube as it is an easy way to get around London!!
Same with the DLR I'd much rather travel on those as well, I like the DLR, there are lots of interesting things like the Thames Barrier and the Millennium Dome that you can see on the DLR approaching Canary Wharf!
Thanks for that however I wasn't saying that this train in this video was a new one but I was asking for a video similar to this one but on one of the new DLR trains!!
I think that is the consensus jf955, it is my gain but still this vid is the right place for tourists to view if they wanted to go to London City Airport they don't need to use a bus link anymore as they now are able to use the DLR (Docklands Light Railway)
I love the DLR :)

Just out of curiosity and you seem to know what your going on about. woolwich to poplar.. then poplar to Deptford Bridge or Lewisham,
in a rough estimate how much would that cost me

@justinfox955 It hasnt been cancelled. They are still considering it.
