Curious that Americans and Canadians refer to "disc brakes" yet call the disc a "rotor". Wonder why they don't therefore call the system "rotor brakes"? Or say "disc brakes" and call the part a "disc". Same issue with automobiles.
I'm getting my first FS disk brake ride (a Santa Cruz in fact, lol). This was helpful to find out ahead so I'll know how it'll go on my Yakima Forklift rack. Thanks!
Help please; I just bought a bike with disk brakes. I think i installed the front wheel correctly but it keeps rubbing against something. I'm guessing it the disk breaks?
@ExtremeWassabi Quite likely. Loosen the screws around the disc brakes, squeeze the brake and hold them, then re tighten the screws. This will center them. ~ Spadout.com
Thank you so much I was being retarded thinking I could do a bike repair and I took off my back tire and the chain got all jacked up haha this helps aloot
Is it the rubber that is grazing? Then you would want to get a smaller tire, this is probably the case because your rim would have to be very bent to touch the frame. Pick up a new set of tire and just get something with a smaller width. Ie the wheel may be 26 x 2.25 you would want something smaller than 2.25 maybe 2.

This guy's accent is funny. Sounds almost Canadian. The way he pronounces "out".
