  • this is one helluva a video. i mean, its a great song...but you did an incredible job. I'm amazed.

  • my fav. hw song

  • My favorite song from the King of Country.

  • Hank did struggle with terrible pain, alcohol and drug addiction. He is still the greatest Country singer that ever lived in my opinion!

  • absolutely, he was the best and he'll always be the best no matter what anyone says.

  • jimmy rogers and Hank sr. were the first hard partying stars ,T for Texas...Tear in my beer.

  • According to his website, Sr. was addicted to morphine and other pain killers due to a birth defect (spina bifida). I do not think that Jr or 3 had this serious a reason to drink or use drugs.

  • drop f#@%$#@%dead

  • I sho like that Sho Bud playin' - makes the song! I can almost see them going down the roads all those late nights, on bad roads, in bad weather, in a sedan loaded to the gills with instruments and sleeping band members. Hank sure gave a lot of people a lot of pleasure with his music!

  • RIP

  • the drugs that sr got addicted to were precribed 2 him

  • My favorite country singer by far...

  • alright so i like hank sr. hank jr. and i did like hank 3 but not so much anymore cause of all the drugs and cussin he does that makes his family look bad

  • hank sr. was a drug addict. he shot up morphine and ate sedatives on top of his alcohol, not as bad as 3.

  • thats right nigger. love it

  • you cant judge his music bcuz of what he did he is and always will b a legend

  • ik wat u mean!!!!

  • what a sharp tune...this song just makes you feel happy

  • Truly a legend

  • Man, I fuckin' dig this video. You did one helluva job on it.

  • hold on just a little longer hank cause when i go,the first thing i'm going to do is ask the lord send we with hank in honky tonk section of heaven

  • I was not a country fan up until a month ago.

I attribute it all to Hank williams songs. Han the III is awesome also. Not hank Jr.

I love brad paisley, toby keith, chet atkins, among others. But Hank Sr. is the best.

  • he looked like my ol´grandfather :) sad he died 07 ;(

  • hank sr is the best, if only he had lived longer,

  • it is absolutely impossible to get any better than this

  • this is some real yee haa music :) thumbs up

  • Just a family tradition, Me and Hank.

  • This was where rock and roll began.

  • hank is the king of country music

  • Hank was the BEST

  • He didn't create the Honky Tonk sound, he just rose to become its master! I read that the rhythms that are part of honky tonk come from the bars where it was born. With badly tuned pianos, and working class blues. The point being that classical melodies would have sounded like shit on those pianos. And so they focused on rhythm...

  • honky may come from the sound of goose

  • Whiteman's blues.....fabulous stuff. Far removed from the insipid stuff served up these days. Shivers down the spine here!!

    P.S.

Proud to be British through and through, with brilliant friends in the U.S.A. Radiator1991 needs to get out more........

  • for what reason?

  • Hank Williams is american classic

no doubt.i see from your profile that

    you rock and metal music,but

    respect some country music too

you don't have to listen him if

you don't want, but you must respect

    him,because he was actually one

    of most notable american songwriters

    on the 20th century.

  • good call dude

  • I was brought up listening to Hank Williams and Hank Snow

  • country gold.

  • Country music today is just a soulless as the rest of today's pop music. is it any wonder that so much of today's music is manufactured by, say, disney?...back in Hank's day, the only way to be noticed at all was to be better than the rest. There was no AI to tell people what they liked and didnt like.

  • Yeah now they just put it on disney or something else homo and its a hit most of the time its not even good.

  • I like guys like Toby Keith but let's face it, Hank

Williams wrote all those great songs and created the Honky Tonk sound. Hank is the father of modern country and rockabilly. Awful hard to compare the young guys to say Merle Haggard or Johnny Cash, I'd say guys like Vince Gill are a little more traditional for my liking.

  • yea I am only 22 and hank jr and sr are my favorite. I don't really like much country out there now but there are some good ones... All you young guys would like brantley gilbert

  • try hank williams III, dale watson, wayne hancock, james hand

  • I have and the bunch of them together (excluding dale watson maybe) doesn't add up to one Hank Williams Sr. sorry Hank 3

  • I'm only 30 and I grew up on hank and all the rest of the real country music .What they call country now a days most of it sucks

  • I agree all the Williams family are just what country is about. I'm haveing trouble finding new country i like. Nelson, Haggard, Coe, Jennings and Cash are unreplaceable. Waylons son Shooter Jennings is the only current country star i listen to but he is half rock.

  • Let me help you find some real country.

Look up the following artists in this order.

    James "Slim" Hand

    Dale Watson

    Kevin Fowler

  • i'm only 30 and i grew up on country. now i listen to progressive alternative "rock". i never really cared 2 much 4 country, it's dead u know. cowboys drive semi trucks & farmers drive combines on a dead line 4 the city. the neighborly smile & respect 4 the earth has been buried under the 'all-mighty-dollar' along with the sound of the ol' folk.

  • Hank is a national treasure. Shame he died when he was 29! This is what they called "Hillbilly" music. I think that is a better description that "Country." How can you compare this to Jessica Simpson (come on you know you like Come on Over) or Trace Adkins (Honky Tonk...)?

  • try jimmi driftwood. hes hillbilly as well

  • I love this song. When I ever I felt sad or down I would play this song and I would be in a good mood the rest of the day

  • You are a real idiot if you talk shit about Toby Keith not being real country cause he is about the closest thing to real country on the radio today, but Im sure you have no ideal what real red dirt country is all about

  • toby keith? ha.... all are pale compared to hank....never will there be another...R.I.P hank...

  • all the "New" Country sounds the same. theres only a few songs worth while.

  • i agree,... along with kenny, keith and etc.

  • you sir...or ma'm are either a faggot cocksmoker...or a pussy lickin lesbian...just so you know

  • this is real country all this new bullshit like toby keith and all them fags suck they aint country just a city faggot with a cowboy hat

  • hey toby keith is one of the better ones but that right for raskle flats

  • An absolute genius! Thanks for posting!

  • hank williams sr, hank williams jr, the best father son duo in country music history.

it bears repeating.... if you dont like hank williams you can kiss our asses..

  • one word f a b u l e s

  • You comment recycling cunt. :P

    (ruleoforder)

  • ignorant? do you know what your talking about? if you dont like the music dont watch the video.. then you go and leave hatefull comments?

  • Hank was one of a kind.

  • he invented country music

  • Why is his grandson such a piece of shit

  • ¨..if you don´t like hank williaaaams..well, you can kiss our ass....¨

  • an alltime classic. wonderful !

  • So happy to find good ol' Hank here! This is one of my fave by him. Imagine what he would have created if he hadn't been taken from us so early..

  • I agree with kycountryfan. Not even cash can compete.

  • this song reminds me being about 5 years old with my dad in his music room listening to the record of hank williams

  • Hank Sr. is the best country singer ever born.

  • stylllle

  • I agree with Kayer 3. Hank Williams is one of the all time best! He deserves respect!

  • how people can insult each other while listening hank williams is beyond me !

  • because some peoples is queers

  • i got the honkytong blues all the time

  • always hank williams...

  • I'm not really a fan of country music but I love Hank Williams SR. His music transcends the boundaries of music styles IMO.

  • oneali should be shot

  • Old Hank in colour.

    This is the shit

  • Was Hank the original composer of this song?

  • Yes, he was.

  • you're a damn fool. Hank was a poet of the people, not a redneck...maybe he wasn't educated but he was real. so to be frank...fuck off.

  • you just don't know good music

  • one1ali what do you deem as poetry? tupac and other thugs talking about killing and doing demeaning things to women? yeah...poetry... just stick to your shit and leave us be in here.

  • Well by today's music standards you may be correct, but you have to remember this is close 60 years old. Music (and the times in general) were very different back then. The object of the game was to put out hits - and a simple, catchy poem alongside a nice tune seemed to work well.

  • you're a fucking idiot. if i knew you, i'd try to talk some sense into you, and if that didn't work, i'd just kick your fucking ass.

  • that steel saves my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • FUCK YEA HANK

  • who are you that you can say Fuck Hank.Fuck

    you.Hank is a legend.

  • HANK UR MY HERO RIP -UR #1 FAN

  • hank is the best! R.I.P mate, thanks for all the great songs!.

  • Just heard Hank's steel player Don Helms passed at the age of 81 on 8/11/08. R.I.P. Don.

  • GO HANK!

  • that last comment was to sevenstorie

  • everytime i call that # they say " gay bar dance club can i help you?" i say "let me talk to 7" they say "he's out givin private dance lessons to gay cowboys"

i say you owe me $3.27 for long distance calls!

  • chill out geek, all southern rowdy redneck rebels are good!

    THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN!

  • this guy is pretty good!

  • OK, now think. Is this not the biblical story of the Prodigal son?

  • California dreaming on such a winters dayyyy

  • gonna tuck my worries underneath my arms and scat right back to my pappies farm gonna leave these honky tonk blues.

  • bye then

  • goddammit he rules...what a genius!

  • AINT THAT THE FUKIN TRUTH!!

  • Many have tried, all have failed. There will NEVER be another Hank Williams friends.

  • he is the man....

he has rock and roll inside him

    i love this song

  • That's why he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

  • hank william is the gratest singer there ever was. he is alsome.

  • he is

  • great video and even better song

  • Is there room for Hank on Mount Rushmore?

  • He don't belong there none. The company tain't good enough fer 'im.

  • One of my favorite hank songs. I like his blusier songs.

  • the difference in the music of 1940s to 1950s is that the artist in those days did their own music ... at the present time in the biz. ... you play and record what the producers tell you to play

thats it... and if you dont like it ... you dont record for any major label.

  • If you ask me he still lives in his songs. Its like i know him. But yet i wasnt even a thought when he died. Ever since i was 11 when i first heard Hank i feel in love with his music. Im now 17

  • He speaks to you through his immortal words..........

  • thats asome man im in my mid 20s and ive only been in to hank for like 5 years

  • Anyone know where I can get a shirt like Hank's wearing at :42?

  • Look up westren wear online.

  • very cool video. i think it's from the documentary right?

  • the best song ever. hans is the best ever. he started country music.

  • he started great music to listen :p

  • My favorite song by the king of country thanks.

  • None of the current crop of Country Wannabies can hold a candle to Hank Willaims Sr.

  • All Hank's song makes me miss my daddy more who passed away in "85"

  • the singer he learned from was named Tee-Tot.

  • Rufus "Tee Tot" Payne

  • Hank Williams learned to play guitar from an old African American man when he was a child. As I have grown older I have developed a greater appreciation for Hank's ability as a composer. He wrote some great songs.

  • Thank god for sicacellenimia!

  • yes there is you fucking nigger. right corner of :41.

  • So according to your theory, every black artist video with no white people in it makes black people racist.

It's people like you that make racism worse in America instead of better. Why don't you try to be part of the solution instead of part of the problem.

  • pis kayer, etre president apres bush. cest tlt au noir kon refile le sale boulot

  • bad ass bar fightin' music, just like pappy done said we dont take kindly to your'e type round haer good song for blazin

  • peacefull trees i understand wat ur talking about

  • Rumor has it that Hank Snow had a lot of Hank Sr movies. There are some out there but folks hang on to them because they are so endured to THE MAN even after all these years. I have some of his personal items and I keep them put up. Hank was and still is the MAN. I am a DJ on a small AM Station and Hank was voted #1 by my listeners. Mansion on the Hill was also voted #1 which suprised me. Thanks for the clip.

  • It's a shame that there is so little footage of Hank. His performance is riviting. It's also amazing that these Kate Smith Show apperances were in the last months of his life when things were spiraling out of control for him, yet he could still pull himself together to deliver that persona that endeared him to millions. Even now.

  • um.... okay

  • o yeah

  • III ARMY

  • KING of the Country Music

  • Poor Hank. He was amazing and adorable. He died too young.

  • All the good ones do...

  • Great song

  • Wow Hank had a deep voice, but some people's singing voices sound different from their talking voices.

  • yippe kay aye hank R I P

  • I rescued this record, 78 rpm, from a "Beer Joint" in El Paso, Tx. 50 yrs. ago. I still have it and about 150 other 78's from that juke box.

  • Hank is a legend. This footage is amazing. Live on Hank!

  • awesoem

  • lord i got em i got the honky blues

  • Best country music singer ever is Hank Williams...#2 - George Jones

  • Hello from Port Arthur,Texas. Gumbo cooked right.

  • im not white and i love hank williams. even though i never grew up listening to anything country, when i heard him sing "I saw the light" a few months ago i felt like my life changed.

hank williams is the man, his music will always be carried on.

  • I and here this man sing and my heart swells, pure magic.

  • Hank Sr. was only singer who ever lived that was better than Johnny Cash.

  • I'm a great fan of Johnny Cash, but I tend to agree - Hank Williams was the quintessential southern artist.

  • I dont know about that, cause theres also George Jones, Merle Haggard,Elvis Presley, Webb Pierce, Hank Snow & a host of others ,who were as good or better than Johnny Cash.& I do like his singing also. Arthur

  • Hank Williams Sr was always my favorite ever since I was a child. I had never got tired of listening to him. My whole family love Hank Williams Sr. No matter what, he will always be number 1 than his son or daughter. His son is excellant singer but his father got wonderful voice in his songs. I wish his son could sing like him. =D Keep it up.

  • everything that's good about the usa right here in this song. he was perhaps the greatest of all country singers
